This charming guest house sits behind a historical home in downtown Morehead City, NC. The main home was built on Shackleford Banks in 1885 and moved to its current location in 1901 by sail skiffs. The guest house was built between the 1920's and 1930's for the second owner of the main house's son. The property sits 2.5 blocks from a sandy public access to the intra coastal waterway!
In the summer of 2017, the home was featured to be a part of the Home and Garden Television show called, Beachfront Bargain Hunt Renovation. Filming began in the fall of 2017 and the guest house was featured as well! The show aired on May 5th, 2018 on HGTV from 10pm to 11pm. You can find the show by downloading HGTV app and searching for Beachfront Bargain Hunt Renovation, Episode 308, titled “North Carolina Renewal.”
The fully furnished guest house has a living room and an eat-in kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave, plates, cups, pots and pans and a coffee maker. The bedroom features a queen size bed and dresser and closet for you to store your belongings. The full bathroom offers a stand-up shower.
Amenities include linens, iron/ironing board, Keurig coffee maker, WIFI, street parking. NO smoking and NO pets. Television in the living room includes an Amazon Fire-stick. On street parking.
Big Rock Landing as well as shopping, restaurants and nightlife are all within walking distance. Morehead City Ferry Service is located within 3 blocks providing boat service to Carrot Island, Bird Shoal, Sand Dollar Island, and Sugarloaf Island. Also Beaufort, voted "Coolest Small Town" is only 3 miles away. If you are lucky, you will see wild horses just off Front Street on Carrot Island.
