I booked a Standard Twin Room at Hotel Boutique Germania through Expedia based on the photos shown online. The advertised images highlight a bright, stylish boutique room with clean décor, wall art, modern lighting, and a welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, the actual room I received was very different. The space was dark, outdated, and basic, with worn carpet, minimal décor, and no resemblance to the images used in the listing. The beds, furniture, and lighting setup were not consistent with what was advertised. The difference between the online presentation and the actual room is significant enough to be considered misleading. When I raised the issue with staff, they were unable to assist and told me only the manager could handle it — but the manager was not available. There was no solution or support offered during my stay. For one night it was manageable, but the overall experience was disappointing and not what I booked or expected. This property should ensure their online listings reflect the reality of the rooms so guests can make an informed choice.

Know: this hotel doesn't have air conditioning. I specifically asked in advance but it didn't work when we were there. The lobby was probably 80F. I know you shouldn't expect A/C in Europe, but I specifically asked in advance. One benefit is that the room was larger than I anticipated.

Our Stay at Hotel Germania

We arrived early on a very hot day after a long trip from the Alps. The ladies working the front desk got us checked in right away even though we were early and even provided a fan for our room. This was typical behavior as the staff was always super friendly and attentive to our needs. The room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel as a whole was charming and had a nice vibe to it. The location was very conjested and a little noisy, but close to the city center. Easily within walking distance. My only concern was the public parking. The morning, we left there were 5 to 6 people sleeping in the parking spot next to my car, even leaning up against the car. Obviously, this is not Hotel Germania's issue. Perhaps they can work with the city to see that people don't loiter where they should not be.

Small rooms with the miniature shower. Location is not great. There are few good restaurants around but the area generally closes early and seemed a bit dodgy. Close to the train station, which is great but the area is what you expect around the main station.

Good for one night alone in a small hotel room. The area around the hotel is nothing less than dangerous. Water, coffee and cookies are free though, and the Eastern European / East Asian staff is a bit hard to understand but friendly.
