Christmas Markets and Krampus!
We stayed her twice in November 2024 while visiting the Christmas Markets and seeing/hearing Krampus. Both times we felt taken care of and valued. The hotel has a great location and is well maintained. We could not be happier with this experience.

Staff were very friendly and polite. Room was spacious and clean, bed was very comfortable. The best thing is probably the location. Located in close proximity to the bustling christmas market with a plethora of food options as well as the metro. Absolutely enjoyed our stay.

This is my second time staying here. It's very close to the beer hall (Hofbrauhaus), the main Christmas Market and walking to the shopping and other markets is very easy. The valet that helped us get our luggage told me to leave the car where it was and he would park it after taking our bags to our room. I ended up getting a parking ticket ($55 Euros) but the Hotel Staff said they would speak to local law enforcement about the ticket and if necessary they would pay it since the valet told me to leave it where it was. So hope that is taken care of and I have faith that it will. The staff was great and I would stay here again. But next time the car will get parked as soon as it's unloaded LOL

Poor valet parking services
Check- in was chaotic with horrible valet parking. The hotel was difficult to get to by car with no where to stop to get bags from the car. Hotels.com lost one of the three reservations but the hotel did a good job compensating for the issue.

I loved almost everything about the Platzl hotel; perfect location, easily walkable from the train station and right in the heart of things; the hotel is well presented, with tasteful decor (I would guess it had been refurbished fairly recently); the staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were very nice. The coffee served in the small cafe in the lobby was fantastic too. My friends also assure me that the breakfast was fantastic, though I did not partake myself. My only complaint (and the reason I've taken off a star) was the bed, I found it very uncomfortable and lacking any support; I prefer a firm mattress as I suffer from lower back pain, so just a word of warning to anyone like myself, this may not be for you. My four friends all said the same thing about their rooms, so not an issue with my room, just the type of mattress chosen.
