This home was wonderful fit for our family of four (two teenagers) to Rhode Island. It was clean, updated and well maintained. The neighborhood was so quiet and peaceful! The beds were very comfortable. There were also nice perks with being able to borrow beach chairs which was helpful. They even had a bags game set! The outdoor area was also very nice- newer furniture, grill and fire pit.
Scarsborough Beach was only a 13 minute walk from the house. It's beautiful there! And we made frequent trips into Newport- only a 30 minute drive from the house to go on the Cliff Walk and tour The Breakers, Marble House, Green Animals Topiary Garden and The Elms. Even Providence was only a 50 minute drive away (traffic was heavy that evening). We had an amazing dinner at Hemenways- one of the top rated seafood restaurants in Rhode Island.
I would be aware, though, that you will be required to put sheets on the beds when you first come and launder all sheets and towels before you leave unless you bring your own. I am a frequent vacation house renter(45 rentals in the past 13 years) and I have never had to do this before. I was taken aback by this, especially since it was not listed in the house description or rules before I rented the house. We had an long drive on the day we left, and if we had to wash, dry and put away two loads of laundry the morning we left, we would have had to wake up well over an hour and a half earlier.
However, the owner was gracious enough to work with me on this and we were able to leave the second load in the dryer before we left. It was not a huge hassle, considering what a wonderful time we had beside that. Just make sure to set aside an extra few hours on the day you leave to get all the laundry done, or save extra money in your budget to buy three extra queen sheet sets if you don't have that many at home-which we don't.
I would still highly recommend this home. It's an excellent value for what you get and one of the best deals in the area!
