I am not just a fan of Best Western; I am also a loyalty points member. Over time, I have become particular about the presentation of the premises, facilities, and, of course, the room itself. I immediately noticed the tile grout in the bathroom was dirty. The grout around the toilet and beneath the sink and tub was black, unlike the grout under the sink, which was visible and clean. Additionally, the tub had a rust stain in front of the drain that I could not remove. There was no suitable place to put the bar of soap after using it, so I had to use one of the two washcloths provided. Instead of disposable cups, there were only two beverage glasses and two glass coffee cups, which do not meet today’s health standards. The fitted sheets did not stay in place on the mattress, causing us to repeatedly tuck the corners back in throughout the night. The pillows smelled unpleasant and were flat, clearly worn out. The curtains were tattered, and the windows were dirty and stained with hard water. On a positive note, the food area and breakfast menu were wonderful. A staff member named Renee did an impeccable job of keeping the food area clean, including the tables. She was also very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area, providing us with information about the hotel shuttle that the front desk staff did not.
