A gamble -great staff but bad experiences too

Mixed reviews.The staff is great & made up for bad experiences. The hotel is more of a motel, with guests taking an elevator in the garage to their rooms though there is one in the lobby, -maintenance only. Upstairs all doors open to an OUTDOOR hallway. If your room is above the garage, expect noise! Rooms are nice at 1st glance but shabby upon inspection, see photos. My room got humid & I think often -see the rust on the lamp. They did something when asked & that fixed the problem. The floors were dirty. Noticed my feet in the shower, so wore socks, you can see how dirty they got. Breakfast is excellent. The employees were the best of the experience. The PM woman tending bar & front desk was great, so was the woman at the front desk in the day, they made me feel very welcome. Leaving it got bad. The young woman was great, offered to stow my bag since my plane was later. I came back for it & asked if could change into jeans ready in my backpack for my flight & she said the restroom. I locked the door & as I was changing, a man diid not knock & used a key to get in, knocking over my suitcase & blocked his way. He yelled and told me to get out it was a public restroom. I explained. He yelled more. I asked who he was. The owner. I said I had a good experience until then & would give a review. He said he would respond back I was acting like a 6 yr old. He yelled at the clerk as I left not to not let guests change there for my show. May be the owner, but I was a paying guest.
Room gets humid. Everything felt damp and probably happens often since the lamp was rusted.
Looks nice at first glance but up close, shabby. This is the quality that went into it, not great. Lights and outlets didn’t work. Banged up here and there.
Floors were filthy. I noticed my feet in the shower and wore socks in the room all the time after. This how dirty they got. Large bug under the fridge but looked like a grasshopper or cricket. At night Outdoor halls had cockroaches though.

We didn’t realize that your room is more of a motel than hotel. It has an entrance from directly outside rather than inside the ‘hotel’. It was clean and offered a great breakfast.

This is a refurbished hotel that is a motel- opens to the outside. I’m not sure if that was clear when we booked it. Our room opened to the inner courtyard which was better then the street, but not sure if the price matches that.

Great stay

Nice room - shame there was zero natural light as our room was opposite the elevator which got rather loud at times- I imagine if you didn’t have this room then you would have no issues with this hotel. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean. Bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was great! It feels like a long walk back from broadway in the heat but is close enough to the attractions.

Weekend Trip

The staff was terrific. Location just a few blocks from many of the attractions so perfect for walking. Downside was the lack of soundproofing between rooms. You could hear normal conversations in the adjoining rooms.

The garbage truck came at 0200. Took 10 minutes emptying the dumpsters outside of our window. Lots of banging. I understand garbage needs collecting but that much noise at 2am was unnecessary. Difficult time going back to sleep after that. Location close to Broadway so we hadn’t been asleep long after being there.
