Really enjoyed our stay. Sam is a great host. We went to many local attractions including the snowmobile museum which we walked to from our place. Nice accommodations and located close to the Ship wreck museum and other attractions. The dog beach is just down the street. Our dogs loved the experience.

Fun place
The house was a great place to stay. The kitchen may have been short on silverware, 5 forks for 6 people, but that would be our only complaint! Sam was a fantastic Host, he went out of his way to make sure we got our pasties, opening early for us on our checkout morning so we could take some home with us! The house was very neat and clean, it was a great place to come back to each day after our site seeing tours. We enjoyed campfires at night and barbecuing on the deck, weather was fantastic. A great place to relax and enjoy Michigans U.P.

Naubinway Base Camp
We enjoyed our stay. Loved the wide open layout of the home. Loved the location and all the things to do. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the spiders and other bugs on the outside of the door to the backyard to go to the dog walk. Sweeping those off with a broom before guests arrive would be ideal. Especially since I have arachnophobia! Thank you for the pasties! :-) <3

Wonderful VRBO in Naubinway, MI
My family of 6 adults stayed at this VRBO for six nights and loved the home, the location, and the responsiveness of the manager. There are not many places in the Naubinway area to house 6 adults, with two bathrooms and lots of space, great parking and food sources within walking distances. This is a gem of a place. The free Pastie with a drink for each person was a very nice welcome to the Upper Peninsula. Highly recommend this VRBO.

Amazing place!
My fiancé and I stayed at this house for a quick UP trip in June 2024. It was a pet friendly house which was great for our two dogs to come with us. The house is really long and big—bigger than we expected! The pictures are exactly what the house looks like interior/exterior. The owner also has a fenced in area in the back of the house for any dogs that attend the trip with you. The location is perfect for any sightseeing you want to go to in the UP. Make sure to bring bug spray- the mosquitos are pretty bad around this time of year. Overall it was a fantastic house to stay in and we plan to book when we come back to the UP!

"Base Camp" is the perfect name.
This property is exactly as advertised. Clean, charming, safe and centrally located to explore the Eastern UP. Sam is almost as awesome as his Pasties. My group stayed 3 days and 4 nights. We went to Mackinaw Island one day, we went to see the Soo Locks the second day and on the third day we went to shipwreck museum and lighthouse at Whitefish Point. This place was the perfect "Base Camp" and more than worth the money. I highly recommend it and don't forget to claim your free Pastie from Sam. They are truly amazing...like Sam.

Perfect spot for UP travels for a fair price
A lovely little home for the family to come back to after adventuring for the day or to stay in if you feel like relaxing. Well equipped kitchen gave us plenty of opportunity to cook our own meals. Plenty of amenities made everything comfortable for us. The fenced in area in the back allowed our dogs some freedom to run around and use the bathroom. The provided scooper and mini rake made clean up easy. The location made it very easy to access many of the places we wanted to see. Local searches showed us many other places that proved to be very fun. We will definitely be keeping this location saved if we travel to that area again. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Perfect mid-point
The house was great! Very well furnished, had supplies that I haven’t run across in any of my vacations! ALL soaps for kitchen and bathroom! All condiments that you would need for any kind of cooking! Great locations to restaurants! Great location to get out and see whatever you want to see! Longest drive was to Whitefish Point and it was only just over an hour! Honestly didn’t have time to do everything that we wanted to do so a second trip is in our future! Sam was a wonderful host and his pasties were great! Came home with some!

My family enjoyed a long weekend in the Upper Peninsula with Naubinway as our home base. The drives to other locations were not too far and we enjoyed some of the local dining Naubinway had to offer. The home had beds a bathroom, and the comfort we needed. Good property!

This was a great spot centrally located to visiting different areas. Sam was a super friendly host who accommodated us in every way. We enjoyed the space and found it very comfortable. A tasty bonus were the pasties Sam added…and Hiawatha pasties are the best! Our two dachshunds came with us and the back yard was great for them. Truly a memorable vacation at this place. Thanks Sam.

We spent 4 days exploring trails and visiting attractions during our stay in Naubinway! This place worked great for us. Sam was awesome to work with and we appreciate that! We also enjoyed the wonderful pasties from his family business, Hiawatha Pasties. Note, our stay was made much easier being that our SXS is street legal. We highly recommend Sam’s place!!

UP family get together
We traveled 11 hours for a family reunion vacation in the UP. A member of the family has a home just 2 miles west of Naubinway in the Hiawatha Club community however not enough space for all to stay. It was great to have our own house space! We were able to have some family over for breakfast that were staying at hotel across the road. My only complaint would be no actual coffee maker, French press doesn’t work for us heavy coffee drinkers-we picked one up in near by Newberry. Overall a great stay and we will be renting from Sam again, a very nice and helpful host!!

Naubinway house rental
Only complaint is that Sam needs to beef up his description of this property to brag about how great it is! It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home. It was well appointed and a good value. Location is on the main road of Naubinway, behind Hiawatha Pasties, within walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants. Easy on/off acess to the highway. Kitchen was well equipped, and Sam left us a nice selection of snacks, basic condiments, tea/coffee, and seasonings. Stackable washer dyer were also great. There was no shortage of paper goods, foil, saran wrap, etc that has been challenging at other rentals. A pasties meal was also included for each person staying at the house. Hands down best in the area. Great stay.
