Tucked away just 15 minutes from bustling Glenwood Springs, our 2BR mountain retreat feels like coming home to a place you’ve been dreaming of.
Mornings bring stunning mountain and golf course views that change with the seasons. We’ve added touches you won’t find elsewhere—a massage table for sore muscles after hiking, a foot spa that’s heaven after skiing, and not one but five ways to brew your morning coffee.
Just 45 minutes from Aspen without the heart-stopping prices. Previous guests tell us they love the “warm, lived-in feeling” and “thoughtful touches everywhere.”
Come experience what Colorado mountain living SHOULD feel like!
A Mountain Home That Hugs You Back
There’s something magical about waking up to the Grand Hogback Mountains bathed in morning light. I’ve watched guests step onto the balcony for the first time and just... pause. Take a deep breath. Shoulders drop.
That’s when I know they get it; this isn’t a place we rent out; it’s a place we love sharing.
The Experience
I’m a bit coffee-obsessed, so you’ll find five different ways to brew your morning cup - French press for slow mornings, espresso for adventure days, and Armenian coffee for when you want to try something new.
Sip it while watching the sunrise paint the mountains gold and pink.
My favorite thing about this place? Coming back after a day in the hot springs or on the slopes. That moment when you sink into the sofa, fire crackling, muscles tired in the best way.
Or using the massage table (yes, really!) to work out that knot from that last ski run. We’re just 15 minutes from the hustle of Glenwood Springs, but honestly, it feels a world away. The only sounds here are the occasional golf clap from Lakota Golf Course and maybe your own contented sigh.
What Makes Our Place Special
Little Luxuries That Make a Big Difference:
● That massage table everyone mentions in their reviews? Guests love it!
● A foot spa that feels ridiculously good after hiking or skiing
● Yoga mats… because sometimes you need to stretch it all out
● Two fireplaces that transform chilly nights into cozy memories
Entertainment For Mountain Evenings:
● Three smart TVs when you want to Netflix and chill
● Board games that have sparked family tournaments (the Armenian backgammon board was my grandmother’s)
● Books that previous guests have stayed up too late reading
A Kitchen That Makes Cooking Fun:
● The Blendtec that makes smoothies so good you’ll want the recipe book
● Our slightly ridiculous coffee station with five different brewing methods (I couldn’t choose a favorite)
● Spices and seasonings that mean you can actually cook, not just reheat
● Coffee, tea, and basics waiting so you don’t have to shop the minute you arrive
Places to Dream:
● A king bed in the master that is so comfortable that guests have asked where to buy it
● The second bedroom has a clever trundle that converts to queen or twins, depending on who you’re traveling with
● A sofa bed in the lounge that won’t give you a backache
● Bedding that feels like a warm hug
The Little Things That Matter:
● Washer/dryer with all the supplies (pack light!)
● A wagon that’s oddly useful for everything from groceries to gear
● All the cleaning stuff you might need (but hopefully won’t)
● Toiletries so you don’t have to squeeze everything into those tiny travel bottles
Location That Just Makes Sense
New Castle is my favorite Colorado secret. We’re nestled here because:
● 15 minutes to those Instagram-famous hot springs (Iron Mountain and Glenwood)
● 15 minutes to Glenwood Caverns, where the kids go wild
● 45 minutes to Aspen/Snowmass skiing without paying Aspen prices
● You can walk to the golf course (or just enjoy watching others play from the balcony)
● Coffee shops, grocery stores, and bus stops are close enough to walk to
● Mountains everywhere you look—seriously, every window has a view
Little Extras That Make You Smile
I’ve arranged some special treats:
● Discounted passes to Iron Mountain Hot Springs (the best one, in my opinion)
● Cheaper tickets to Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park
● Sweet deal at Coloradough Donut Shop (dangerous but delicious)
Who Feels at Home Here
Over the years, we’ve welcomed:
● Couples who leave looking more relaxed than when they arrived
● Families who text me later about “the best game night ever”
● Remote workers who send me screenshots of their “office view”
● Adventure junkies with gear for every season
● People who want to hike all day but also want a really good shower after
