This place is ridiculous - there was only 1 elevator working and you needed an operator to use the elevator so everytime we went down - you needed to call front desk to send the elevator down. One day we waited for 20 minutes (after calling the front desk) and there was still no elevator so then we decided to walk down the stairs. When we got to the lobby we overheard a staff going to the bakery and said to another staff, “there’s no elevators working with a smirk on his face”. There was no announcement what so ever that the elevator was not working! I was with a toddler and a stroller so it was extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. I had high expectations for this hotel and I will never stay at an Ace hotel ever again. And the restaurant and bakery food were terrible (even coffee tasted horrible).

Ace Hotel for a upscale. low key stay
Yeah, the Ace is great. Welcoming, energetic vibe, friendly staff. Cool room, well designed and comfortable. Restaurant and lively bar on site. Walk to lots of stuff. Subway close. Wish it were a bargain, but it's surely a treat.

The furnace is too closed to the head of the bed. It was so noisy each time it kicked on. I could barely slept the whole night.

Not worth the money if you like sleeping properly. The bed and room were clean and well designed, but the hotel is right over a subway station so you will feel the room shake with every train. We were put on the 3rd floor and kept awake by the lamps rattling. We were then moved to the 13th floor and could still feel the vibration. The air filter in the new room was absolutely filthy and the unit was super noisy when it turned on and off. After we complained they switched the filter but what would've happened if we didn't? - Overpriced for the quality of rest. - Dirty air filters and noisy ventilation unit. - Super friendly staff.
