We got stranded at JFK and this was one of the few hotels left. We were in a basement room where only one of two window locks worked, which I think was a safety concern considering anyone could kick the window in from the street. There was a half empty beer can laying on the windowsill, and when you stepped on the floorboards by the window liquid came out...beer or water, not sure which. The water in the shower ran brown in the morning for 5 minutes. The wheel on the luggage trolley was flat. On the good side, the breakfast was clean and simple.

Serves basic needs
Overnight stay after a cancelled flight. Happy to find a room at late notice. It was shelter and a shower but can’t say much more positive thing about it.

Don’t go!
Bad experience for a close to 300$ room! Shocking. Elevator didn’t work to lift luggage. Front person didn’t want to help. Room smelly, noise from elevator. Very basic poor quality breakfast. Bed was bad and springs old. I was planning 3 days and decided change to another cheaper and incredibly better experience. Long time if not ever having something that bad and for the price even worse.

Avoid the basement rooms
Caution - After booking this $400/night room with a kingsize bed for 9 nights on Hotels.com, I edited the stay to 7 nights which resulted in a room with two queens instead. Upon arriving at the hotel I learned this room was in the basement with a garden level window looking out at car tires in the parking lot, inferior furnishings (even the coffee maker was packets vs. pods upstairs), and a desk that wasn't stable/had uneven legs so my plan for work wouldn't last. I asked for a new room and after being escorted down to see the desk like I was lying about it, I received a superior room on the first floor with updated furnishings and a nice little coffee maker. This room had a view of the street and was near the lobby but not overly loud. Don't settle for the basement when you're paying that much money and staying for a week.
