Not convenient for an airport hotel but better quality than the others at the airport (Marriott, Hilton etc.). Noisy with poor soundproofing between rooms. I could hear every scrape from the floor above, and thump from room next door. Hallway smelled of smoke. No in room dinning option. The lobby (inside and out) often smelt of weed.

I was here for a business trip. The Holidays in NYC are very rough in general so do not expect good value anywhere, that’s understandable. However, the cleaning staff was making noise all the way until midnight. I have never seen hotel staff clean during those hours. The restaurant next to the hotel has a hidden mandatory fee of 20% which is likely illegal. The Casino is the most depressing one I have ever seen. I have seen unlicensed casinos that are more lively than this place.

“Noise-proofed rooms” is a joke, we could clearly hear the guy in the room next to us talking on his phone and playing music on his tv as if the wall were tissue paper. Had to call security to get him to turn it down which he did but never answered the door, could still hear it all night. Food in lobby was very expensive. Looking for peace and quiet after a long flight but didn’t get it here.

First of all this is a four-star hotel. It is new, modern, immaculate, spacious, and beautiful. The casino off the main lobby is a surprise for anyone who grew up in this area decades ago as I did. The staff at the hotel is accommodating and pleasant. I must give a special “shout out” to Mr. Thupten, the hotel manager. When I explained to him that my husband and I would be landing at JFK at 8 am, having flown from RDU in North Carolina at 6 am and having been up since 3 am, he was so kind to us. He arranged an early check in for us so we could get some rest before our very busy day began. We were in our beautiful room by noon instead of the standard 4 pm. We were able to get a sumptuous breakfast at The Sugar Factory (where we ate multiple meals during our stay) and relax. He accommodated us in a most considerate way as we had flown up to JFK for our brother’s memorial service, and we are grateful. For anyone coming to NYC, who must stay in Queens, this is the place to stay. It is close to JFK. However, you never hear the planes arriving or leaving. How amazing is that! Three other family members from out of town stayed here too! There was even time for me to win a few dollars at the casino! I give this hotel 5 stars!!!! Great place to stay! Best in area and one of the best in the city! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! Sandra Manigault- a former NYC resident and former math teacher at the John Adams High School that was down Rockaway Blvd decades ago!
