The stay was fine, room was comfortable, but check your receipt at the end of the stay to make sure they don’t charge you for parking when you didn’t bring a car.

I have a reservation in Hampton hotel newark new jersey USA from Oct 12 to 15th On getting here i was told no rooms for my reservation, I am here helpless with my two kids without any hope of getting a room. This is so inhuman in a country where i have nobody been waiting since Oct 12 waiting until Oct 13th. 3:30am Before they went to clean the handicap room for me to sleep and my booking was a king bed and sofa bed in a suite worse experience of my life booking with Expedia and Hampton hotel newark new jersey located at 100 Passaic Ave, Harrison, NJ 07029, USA is the worse experience.

They should have disclosed the fact that their pool was closed. We traveled with younger kids that looked forward to the pool time. Also parking was 0/10 because its limited parking! They have an additional parking lot but it's around the corner which is unsafe to walk at night. Our room had mold in the tub, we requested our room to be cleaned. It took them two days and a reminder for them to do so. The day they did clean it, we came back to our room door cracked open. (Luckily nothing was taken from our room) Overall it was a bad experience and we travel a lot.

Location was great for my visit since I needed to be in Harrison. It’s also close to PATH train to get into Manhattan. Unfortunately, perhaps due to its popularity, the property is very worn down. Rooms are clean and generally comfortable but things are broken or not functioning as designed. Ex: Our shower/bath diverter didn’t fully work so lots of water building up in tub during shower. However, staff was helpful and professional. We appreciated breakfast (though no hot foods during our stay due to oven being broken). Overall, we would probably stay again due to location but not due to facility.

I have been here various times and always had a really nice experience except this last time and because of that I may not return to this hotel again. It was one thing after another but the worst part was getting into an argument with a staff member over adding more waffle mix she was rude and very unprofessional, she acted as if I was asking her something unfathomable, I complained to the front desk no results , manager arrived as I was departing and looked like he couldn’t be bothered no one called to address the situation at all. Other people were complaining breakfast is u til 10am but there wasn’t anymore food all I wanted was a waffle for my grand daughter. The service was unacceptable to say the least.

The area around the hotel is unsafe at night to venture into. The front desk operator was extremely slow, and did not even speak to us regarding what was going on. I never write reviews, but if I could help someone avoid this place I will. The fire alarm went off at 7 am. When we started to panic, my boyfriend let us all know that he read previous reviews that the hotel had a fire alarm go off just the day before at 4am. It seems like a typical thing for them. The carpets are dirty, and the front desk staff seem uninterested. She was very slow and didn't have any customer service skills so it seemed - (we checked in at night 1 am due to delayed flights). But, other reviews have said the same thing. My only regret was not reading other reviews. The bed was nice, and we felt safe within the hotel. If you want to venture out - be careful. We ubered to the train station and ubered to the hotel. Even our uber driver gave us caution.

Not good. Did not get the room I booked and no offer for inconvenience via at least no surcharge for parking. Breakfast would have been better if there was cream cheese for bagels, if there was eggs and bacon or sausage but seems equipment went bad. But that didn’t explain why the hot water kept running out and why the staff were not friendly.

The room was big and seemed sound proof. We never heard any neighbors or noise from the hall. Room was big, had a fridge, couch, and a table. It didnt have any over head lighting, just smaller lamps, so the room was always kind of dark. THE POOL IS CLOSED, and the pool was one of the reasons for booking since it's perfect for after the long NY walks. The bar was never open as far I could tell. Continent breakfast was ok, dry eggs and bacon but the coffee, fruit and waffles were good. There isn't many places to eat around the hotel, we had to get dunkin and Popeyes sometimes or drive to a nicer place to eat. But the view from the back grounds over looking the lake were really nice. This is an hour train ride or car drive to most NY tourist spots, so be aware of that. Pricing is unclear up front, and you have to wait for the incidentals to fall off to see how much you really paid.
