The hotel was old and rustic, and cozy. The breakfast was delicious! And service was friendly and great. Some nice pubs were very close to walk to with one being right across the street!!

Quaint older property w a lot of charm. The staff was friendly and helpful and their food at their restaurant was excellent and plentiful. We really liked the Carrick Fergus area as well. Would stay there again for sure.

Not a good hotel for hot weather. Sleepless night as really small and stuffy. Window has no screen and at street level. Liked the history of the place and the cute pub.

Eat here don’t sleep here.

The staff were fantastic and very helpful. The food was also very good. The rooms were like stepping back in time to the 1970’s. Awful beds. Luke warm drippy showers. Plug sockets that you couldn’t get a plug in. Windows that won’t stay open without propping them up with a log. Mouldy tiles in the bathroom. Lumpy beds. Tiny towels. Really was the worst room I’ve ever stayed in! At £135 I expected much better.
Can’t get a plug in as too close to the surface.
Toilet so high it was very hard to sit on.

Friendly but shabby

The welcome was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good, but the property felt run down and shabby. Our windows looked out onto a dirty fire escape and had no way to hold them open, but would not have been secure open anyway so room was hot. Sitting on the high square toilet was like an implement of torture. The mattresses were cheap and uncomfortable and could feel the springs and got bounced around by partner. Paint peeling off the walls. Carpet so thin and with no underlay. Cobwebs around ceiling. Very dated room with little to recommend it. Shower was powerful when the hot water eventually came through.

Overseas trip

We had a great few days at the Dobbins Inn. Breakfast had all the usual options and was perfect. We had dinner 2 of the nights and it was some of the best food we had on our trip. The rooms are dated but it's an old place and expected. The bed was comfortable, and the windows opened enough to control the temperature. Wi-Fi was available throughout the building. The car park is less than a 5-minute walk to the hotel.

The staff were wonderful but the property is dated in decor and condition. We had no hot water on the first morning which made showering a challenge. There are limited dining options available in the area and off site parking can be a problem. The complimentary breakfast is lovely.
