Had a quick one-night stop at Nobeoka for Takachiho gorge. This hotel was convenient for both travelling by train (1-minute walk from JR station) and by the buses for the gorge (5-minute walk for the bus stop). As an added bonus, the hotel was quite nice. The room was clean and had the essentials: yukatas, kettle, fridge and a comfortable bed. And a surprisingly nice bathroom! The view from window wasn’t the nicest, but I didn’t mind after the trip to Takachiho.

不錯的旅館
地點不錯。附近有許多餐廳選擇。晚上除了火車聲和月台的廣播聲，倒是蠻安靜的。（位居火車站旁） 停車方便，很多停車位。 飯店有新館和舊館。我們選擇舊館，因為聽說舊館房間比較寬敞。飯店提供自助洗衣房和免費冰塊。要是飯店能提供免費咖啡就更棒了。早餐菜色選擇比較少。不過茶包選則卻不少。下次如果再到延岡仍會再入住。

The hotel is very close to the train station. There’s actually 2 parts to this hotel with 2 different elevators. It seems that one side is newly renovated and the other side is the older side, which I was placed in. It got a little confusing when I went on the wrong elevator, not realizing that the elevators don’t connect to the other side. I was looking for the laundry. It was on the newly renovated side. The lady at the front desk spoke perfect English. I was impressed. The rooms are a lot bigger than the APA hotels in Hiroshima and Tokyo.

Good for a short stay
Nothing really of interest to see in Nobeoka, but used it as a overnight stay before a day in Takachiho. Wonderful staff, very helpful. Breakfast was mediocre for Japanese standards. Convenient though, pretty close to train and busstation and there’s a konbini in the neighborhood.

A very good business man's hotel.
We stayed at Nobeoka for its easy access to Takichiho. This hotel is a 2 minute walk from the railway station and bus depot. From the outside it is not much, however, once inside it is a pleasant suprise having been renovated in 2016. We had a twin room and had plenty of room save for the bathroom, which was a small capsule, but it did suffice. The hotel was clean and quiet. The restaurant is open for BL&D, the food is okay. There is not a lot in the local area, but a walk of 10 minutes or so you will find stores and restaurants. If we return to Nobeoka we would have no hesitation in staying at APA.
