Overall it was a very nice hotel. Starbucks on site plus the restaurant were great. It is not directly on the Virginia Beach so on the bay side which means calmer waters where we saw dolphins swimming. The pool was small but worked. The parking fee every night was a bit expensive in my opinion. It took hours to get our son's crib to the room but overall a good stay.

Nice clean hotel with easy access to the beach and pool is clean. The staff is nice just very quiet they don’t really socialize or say hi unless you say it first . No big deal to me I guess that’s why their review is low under staff friendliness .

Great Stay with a Few Minor Hiccups
Check-in was smooth and efficient. The hotel offers on-site parking for an additional $24 per night, which is deducted from your incidentals. On Saturday morning, we decided to try the breakfast buffet at the Tides restaurant inside the hotel. We made our plates and sat down, but when we asked a waitress for some hot tea, she informed us that the buffet was $22 per person—something we hadn't been told earlier. We appreciated her letting us know before we started eating, so we opted to try a local spot called Citrus instead, which was a great choice and well worth the price. After breakfast, we rented a beach Cabana for $84, but when we arrived, another family was already there. They politely moved, but it would be helpful if the hotel provided “Reserved” signs to avoid this issue. Later, a family member was coming to stay in our room for a night, so I called the front desk to ensure they would receive a room key, blankets, and a parking pass upon arrival. Although the staff member assured me these items would be ready, my family member wasn’t given anything, which was disappointing. Additionally, we experienced some technical issues—our room phone wasn’t working properly, so we had to rely on our cell phones to contact the front desk. Despite these minor issues, our stay was enjoyable. The room was spacious, the view was stunning, and the food and drinks at Tides were good. With a few improvements, this hotel could be even better. I would still recommend it.

Hotel is fine but NOT oceanfront!
Hotel was fine but be aware that this is NOT oceanfront. Wound up checking out after one night because it wasn’t the experience my family was expecting. Fortunately, management was responsive and only charged me for one night and another Marriott came to the rescue.

Great view (POOL side is better than oceanfront) your able to see all along the coast, from 6th floor and up. Literally right on the bay, no cross walking streets, straight from the pool to sand. However NOT easy with stroller or wagon, no ramp, two sets of steps down to the sand from hotel. Housekeeping and front desk did NOT DO well acknowledging your request (towels, toilet paper..etc). ROOM CONDITION: Nicely furnished but not so clean, we found a large COCKROACH in the bathroom. Management was not willing to refund our stay upon finding it and notifying them we wanted to leave (day 3 of our 4 nights) They offered to change our room but only to a downgrade, very disappointing in the lack of willingness to understand their guest comfort is most important.
