This pristine lake is ideal for swimming, boating and fishing. The lake offers large and small mouth bass, Northern Pike and Walleye.
In the Winter, A roaring fire, board games and popcorn all make for a relaxing getaway. Explore your frozen backyard on foot, or pack your snowshoes or cross-country skis, then cozy up by the fireplace after a long day of playing in the snow. The snowmobile trail runs right across the lake so you can just hop on your sled and go making this an ideal winter retreat for ice fishing and snowmobiling.
In the Summer, family & friends can relax on the walk-out wraparound deck overlooking the Lake, there is a dining table and chairs and lounging furniture to enjoy and soak up the waterfront view. Near the water there is also a firepit with ample seating to enjoy campfires and some s'mores. At the waterfront, in addition to the dock, there is a viewing platform for your sunset dining. The relatively flat, grassy property lends itself to outdoor games of all kinds. For those with children, the water is shallow and there is a giant sandbox so the kids will find themselves entertained for hours!
Inside the cottage, the main living space offers an open concept feel, offering a comfortable living room with spectacular views of Sand Lake, morning & night and a well-equipped kitchen, perfect for making those family meals! Enjoy the charming sunroom as an additional seating area, a perfect spot to read a book or savour your morning coffee. In the living room, there is plenty of seating for the entire group and the cottage also includes a stone fireplace in the center to enjoy a fire on those cooler winter days. The living room is where you'll want to gather in the evenings, play a game, or stream some entertainment with one of the platforms available. The dining area can seat 8, plus there's a breakfast bar for additional seating. For sleeping, there are two large beds - one king and one queen - for the adults, and the kids will love the bunk room. The pull couch and the futon in the sunroom can provide additional sleeping in the warmer months. There is one 4-piece bathroom. Unlimited high-speed wifi turns this oasis into a home away from home where you can work, play or just get away.
Conveniently located under 2 hours of Ottawa and 3.5 hours from the GTA, this waterfront cottage rental is ideally located to enjoy the beauty of the Eastern Ontario landscape while being central to many of the area's great attractions.
If you are an avid astronomer, bring your binoculars or a telescope and settle in for some night viewing at the North Frontenac Dark Sky Preserve, only 15 minutes from the cottage.

Waterfront This cottage is on the southern shore of Sand Lake, near the Village of Plevna, with a northwestern exposure. The waterfront is shallow, and suitable for guests of all ages, and the dock leads out into deeper water.
Close-By Attractions
Bon Echo Provincial Park. Beautiful park 45 minutes from the cottage featuring a 100 metre high Mazinaw Rock featuring over 260 Indigenous pictographs. Great hiking trails from 1 km in length to 17 km in length are available for use from mid May to mid October.
Snowmobiling & Ice Fishing. The cottage is located right on a snowmobile trail that leads out to the lake, making it easy for guests to set out for a day of snowmobiling in the morning. In addition, there is lots of great ice fishing on the lake for any avid fishers in the group.
Land o'Lakes Rescue Petting Farm. Just 30 minutes from the cottage, Land O' Lakes Rescue Petting Farm is a fun, safe and educational experience for the whole family. Visit with the many amazing rescued farm animals now residing there. They can't wait to meet you!
Golfing. Hunter's Creek Golf and Country Club is just 30 minutes from the cottage, a 9 Hole Par 32 Executive Golf Course, now including a new 3 course disc golf course too, making this a fun course for the family!
North Frontenac Dark Sky Preserve. The North Frontenac Dark Sky Pad and Observatory is one of the best places for stargazing in all of Ontario. Bring binoculars or a telescope, and enjoy the show!
Cloyne Pioneer Museum. Sit in an early schoolhouse that has been reconstructed within the building. Marvel at the diorama of the Gilmour Tramway. It moved logs from Lake Mazinaw in the Mississippi River Watershed to Pringle Lake. See what an early pioneer kitchen looked like. Touch the early tools and implements made by blacksmiths, coopers, and harness makers. The admission is free, but donations are appreciated.
