The Flip Flop Inn is conveniently located between both bridges, for easy access to mainland and two grocery stores, Publix and Food Lion. Just up the road is Southport, 6.8 miles to oak island lighthouse, 7.1 to the Marina, 14.4 to Fort Fisher Aquarium , shops, restaurants and cafes.
6 miles to helicopter ride or sky dive.
15 miles to Southport Ferry,great ride to Carolina Beach, in the summer onThursday night they have a free to public: band then fireworks and rides

Christmas Vacation
We had a wonderful time of rest and relaxation. Weather may not have been the greatest but fine for the time of year. No one can control that! We put a puzzle together and played our games and just relaxed. Nice place. We definitely ate too much!

We loved our stay at the Flip Flop Inn. The property was clean, cozy and well kept. Location was perfect and being able to bring our mini Schnauzer was icing on the cake. We plan to stay there again for sure.

41st Wedding Anniversary Celebration

The location was perfect! Loved being able to walk out the back door and onto the beach. Six of us fit comfortably without feeling crowded. We've been coming to Oak Island for 20 years and have stayed in various rentals - we'll put this on the top of our list when we come again.

Great location!
Quiet beachfront area, beach access at bottom of stairs from deck, had our section of the sand pretty much to ourselves. House worked great for the two of us and two furbabies. House was clean, didn’t do any cooking so can’t speak to how well appointed the kitchen is, but did get Publix grocery delivery. Lots of restaurants within a few miles. Wonderful stay!

My husband and I brought our dog, Frankie,and we had a wonderful time. This is a comfortable, spotless cottage with an ideal location! you wake up to the sound of the ocean and are walking distance to the best pizza on oak island. The owner, jeanine, was very accomodating, too. We will definitely return!!

Enjoyed my stay at Flip Flop Inn. We arrived to find a clean house. Beds were very comfortable. Hostess was very quick to reply to any questions. The house is very small but perfect for four people. Really enjoyed our stay and the weather was perfect.

great location but badly in need of some care
The location of this beach house is great, A/C worked well, bed was comfortable, but there are some things we had some issues with that I do not expect when paying over $500.00 a night to stay somewhere - the house needs quite a bit of interior touch up work, driveway is overgrown, we killed roaches (big and small ones) every night in the house, picture on VRBO indicates the beach and waves can be seen from the deck but the dunes actually block it

Flip Flop In For the Win!
My sister and I took the nieces for a beach vacation and the Flip Flop Inn didn’t disappoint! The cottage was clean, porch space was lovely, and the access to the beach was absolutely amazing! The host, Jeannette is very accommodating and very timely with her responses. We created so many memories at the cottage and I am already looking at dates to return next year! We had such a great vacation at Oak Island, and very much enjoyed our stay at the Flip Flop Inn! The house was so cute and cozy, and it provided much of what we needed for our stay. Jeanette was very friendly and helpful in our messages to each other, and she responded in a very reasonable amount of time. The location couldn't be more perfect, either, and the view was great! We definitely recommend staying here, and we'd love to return! ❤️

Great little getaway spot
This is a wonderful little cottage to stay at on Oak Island. Just walk out the back door and you’re on the beach. The house is well kept and the beds were very comfortable. It’s perfect for a couple or a small family getaway.
