Comala B&B is conveniently located within walking distance of the Santo Domingo Temple, museums, and the mercado. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. We especially enjoyed Carlos, the owner. He is a wealth of information about the area and never failed to greet us when we returned from our explorations. They give you several choices for breakfast options and each was delicious. The rooftop terrace is a pleasant spot to have a drink and/or dinner in the evening. At times, they have live music. Our only negative is that it can get noisy on Friday and Saturday nights. So bring earplugs!
Carlos was great helping us get aquainted to Oaxaca, providing excellant personalized service. I had accidently switched bags with a friend staying at another place and he had one of his staff walk over with me to exchange bags. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Great value and very good location for visiting the City. Could use a few more amenities like toilet paper holder and towel rack/hooks, room was clean, bed was not great. Wi-fi only worked in lobby. Rooftop bar and restaurant were a really nice addition.
This is a good place to stay for a couple of nights - friendly service, good breakfast on the roof overlooking Oaxaca. The hotel is new, has some nice features and is good value. Although it is on a busy street, the rooms are all at the back of the hotel and it is as quiet as any place in the city. Just down the street from the Oaxaca Lending Library where lots of ex-pats gather to share experiences and ..... play bridge! The manager of the hotel speaks pretty good English and is very patient with novice Spanish speakers.
