If you are looking for an American Chain hotel, then there are those, but if you want an authentic Mexican hotel experience, this is the place. It is centrally located in one of the busiest street markets in Mexico, where the hustle of bustle starts early and ends late. Yes, there is loud music from the shops ( music disc vendors and some shops play music), a smoky bar barque smell in the breeze from the many charcoal braziers in the food market, noise from the vendors and bit traffic, but that is exactly where the hotel is located. It is with two blocks of the Zocalo and is central to the museums and cultural centers.
The staff are very friendly and are quick to provide any thing that you might need. The rooms are clean, the linens fresh and the rooms well appointed. There are spacious open air areas to just sit and enjoy the hour. The hotel has an entrance on the ground floor. The second floor has a lovely interior open air patio that is comfortably furnished. The third floor contains 3 rooms for guests, an open air roof top patio, the meeting rooms and the breakfast buffet room. Once you climb the stairs from the lobby to the second floor, you are in the middle of the city, but have a quiet refuge.
I will stay here again, in a heartbeat... I love the ambiance and the feeling of this place..Oh and the coffee maker in the room is such a treasure fr Mexico.
This is a great place to stay. Some knowledge of Spanish is helpful.
