Tasha is an amazing manager she tries to make your stay memorable and enjoyable! The other staff members are very nice as well. I like the suites and the setup. The location is conveniently located on the beach.

8/15-19/24 I enjoyed my stay at the Commander. I had an ocean view. Loved the convivence of being on the boardwalk, food locations, easy access to beach. Free chair rental (2 per room)

Nice hotel, friendly staff. Great location. Only thing I wish they had was a manual safety latch on the door. My 2 year old grandson could unlock the door and go into the hall.

The location, view and staff were excellent! The room where the beds are is very tight yet kitchenette was very roomy. Balcony was huge and you could see the ocean and bay from our 7th floor navigators suite. The one bed has springs that squeaked when you moved. A/C was very loud. A lot of the place was just dated and outside doors/ windows needed a good cleaning and painting. Toaster was old. There were no curtains on the windows, just blinds, so it was very bright in the morning. There is not enough parking close to hotel, especially if you needed to be close for mobility issues. If you tried to park during the day or after 10 at night, you were out of luck. The room is not very soundproof so you heard every outside noise. Overall, we had a nice time because of the location. This hotel is just your basic, no frills hotel but not inexpensive. You pay for location. Another positive is they give you 2 beach chairs to use per unit.

Horrible experience at this hotel. I booked the hotel on Expedia with Oceanfront view/ limited view not knowing the meaning behind that. I get to the hotel that day early and the room was not ready. I waited until 3:30 and it still wasn’t ready and the girl at the front desk was rude didn’t get her name. The policy of the hotel which is placed on the inside of the hotel says check in is at 3pm but they totally ignored it. They finally call me and I go up to see the room. It was a horrible room, they put me on the second floor with a balcony on top of the restaurant Grotto Pizza where all the birds flied and they came on to my balcony and pooped all over my balcony. I couldn’t use the balcony at all which I paid extra for. I go downstairs to speak with the manager SPENCER who rude as well and I told him about the situation. His response was "You can leave there is nothing I can do for you”. That’s not how a manger should respond to a customer who asked politely and is paying a lot of money to stay at this hotel. The room was also dirty and my blankets had blood on them and looked like they were not even washed at all. The Fridge was dirty from the previous people who stayed in this room and hotel. There are many other hotels and even motels on the boardwalk that are a 1000x better than this place.

Great Location
The Commander Hotel was in a good location. I searched for several days to find a nice hotel which was in center of boardwalk. I certainly would stay here again. The only downfall was the sand on the room floor. But I'm sure it is hard to get rid of it. Maybe a broom and dustpan in the room would solve that issue??

Our room smelled like a dead animal was in the ventilation system. There was mold on the ceiling and in the kitchen . I called multiple times about the dead animal smell and they only offered a spray deodorant.

I have stayed at this hotel since i was a child and for the first time ever, i found the facilities dirty and the room unkept. We have little kids and left for the day, coming back just before their bed time and twice the room was not made up. this is the worst when you have little kids and no clean bedding or towels. when we checked in, the room was also not completely cleaned. we had to have room service vaccum, empty the garbage, and tiddy up. the staff was nice enough about it, but didnt really offer to make it right or offer any explanation. When it happened more than once, we started to see that this is starting to become a pattern for this hotel, unfortunately. for the first time ever, we are considering staying elsewhere next year.

When we book we specifically asked breakfast included and the name of the hotel was holiday inn. It changed when we got there and they charged me for extra for the things did not know. No breakfast, No shower curtain. Booked through Expedia the name of the hotel something never heard of, had no choice but to stay. The staff members were okay.

We checked in late due to travel issues. While check in was seamless when we got to the room, the floor still had sand and the floor bathroom towel had black dirty foot prints. The location is great, but they can definitely put a little more effort is keeping the rooms cleaner.
