Verbo and owner fall way short of expectations. Will never go through VRBO again!
I had stayed at this property 3 years ago and it was GREAT! This time, I could not get the access code from either the owner or VRBO. The owner wasn't answering his phone and I left 4 messages. VRBO said only the owner could give me the code and they couldn't contact him either. The owner goes through a management company and they also could not give put the code! As we drove through the mountains from Az. I kept being put on hold and the call kept being dropped. After 4 hours of this, my phone went dead and I began using my daughter's phone. Long story short, when we arrived a the home, we couldn't get in! We spent 4 1/2 hours with 6 people setting in the car! Finally at 7:30 P.M., I received the code and we went in. There were 3 chairs at the table;e. for 6 persons. The owner had called as we were walking in and said the code was sent on wednesday. IT WAS NOT. He said his sister was out of town and that's why we couldn't get ahold of anyone!He also said he would bring 3 more chairs at noon the next day. The next day (Sat.) we waited until 1 and left for the beach. When we got home at 6, there were 4 white plastic outdoor chairs by the front door. At one point, VRBO was going to put us up in a hotel for 2 days. This was a total nightmare for all os us and very stressful. I asked VERBO if they were going to compensate us somehow as I paid heavily for this total mess and inconvience and they said yes, of course and they would get back to me on it. To no ones surprise---they have not! There is a doorknob missing for a hall closet and one of the vases setting on an endstand in the livingroom has a large chip out of it. The home its self was fine. We enjoyed the home and the area. However, it was impossible to get the code which left us setting in the driveway, with phones going dead for over 4 1/2 hours! Never again. And I must say, I rented my home in Tempe up until 4 years ago and I ALWAYS spoke to my renters personally if not meet them with the key. This was unexcusable for the owner and VRBO.
