STUDIO in traditional rammed earth farm house - MOBA Ecotourism

Enjoy the tranquillity of nature, the wonderful view of our beautiful valley and the laid-back attitude for which the Alentejo is so well known. MOBA is a sustainable holiday accommodation in the middle of nature and yet within walking distance of the very original little village of São Luís - at the same time it is only 15 km to the beautiful beaches of the Costa Vicentina. We have a pool and you will receive a breakfast basket every morning so you can start the day relaxed.

The MOBA Studio is in our main house, a typical Alentejan farmhouse (Monte), which is now largely energy self-sufficient thanks to its own solar energy. It is situated on a hill overlooking our beautiful, naturally overgrown valley and the pool. The grounds cover 10 hectares, mainly wooded with cork oaks, pines and olive trees, as well as our organic fruit and vegetable gardens. It is crossed lengthwise by a stream and offers many hidden places to observe nature.

The house is built from rammed earth (taipa), a traditional, sustainable and healthy construction method that ensures it stays cool in summer. There is a large terrace area with tables, chairs and a barbecue - which is largely covered and can therefore be used all year round. We produce most of our own electricity and are completely self-sufficient in water thanks to our 3 wells. We only use ecological cleaning agents, detergents and washing-up liquid etc., do not use disposable crockery and offer our guests free spring water to avoid the waste caused by plastic bottles.

There is a fenced pool (Ø 5 m / 1.5 m deep), which is operated with a salt water system and is therefore very skin-friendly and easy on the eyes.

Breakfast: You will receive a daily breakfast basket with fresh eggs, bread, butter, cheese, honey/jam and some fruit (depending on the season and availability from our own garden). Coffee & tea as well as vinegar, olive oil, salt, pepper and sugar are available as basic equipment in the accommodation.

MOBA has a total of 4 separate accommodations, each with its own entrance, bathroom and terrace. This studio with approx. 34 m² has a double bed, a folding/sleeping couch, a kitchenette, its own dining table and fireplace as well as a spacious bathroom (2 to max. 4 people).

We also rent out a double room, which is located in the same house, and 2 detached cork tiny houses, which you can find in separate adverts.

Shared area: rest of the terrace area, BBQ, pool and garden.

We live in the main building with our little daughter, we have two lovely dogs, chickens, sheep & bees. Our guests are personally received and we are available at all times for questions & advice.
