## Neighborhood

Olhão is located next to Faro. It has a lovely and lively old centre with a rich history of traditional Portuguese culture. From here, you can easily explore both the east, west and inland Algarve but Olhão is perhaps most famous as the access point to the beautiful and peaceful islands of Armona and Culatra by ferry. There are public and private ferry options are available, and they are located just a few minutes' walk from the apartment.

Due to the central location, you will have lots of shops, restaurants and bars to choose from in the close vicinity of the apartment. In addition, a supermarket is located at less than 5 minutes walk.

## Transit

You can quickly get around on foot or use public transport or a taxi/uber. A hire car is recommended if you want to explore the larger Algarve area. Parking in old town Olhão is accessible in most places, except along the waterfront. It can be challenging to find it, but a spot will usually be available close to the apartment. An extensive paid parking area at a nearby hotel is a good alternative for those uncomfortable navigating the old town streets.

Very very disappointed
The only good point was the location. The property was not clean and very poorly maintained. It needs a full refurbishment. We were very disappointed and very dissatisfied. Very limited support to resolve the problems unhappyandmtoVedisinted in the hosts of this property

Great place!
We enjoyed our stay at Townhouse 13 in Olhao. It was located very close to the fish and vegetable market with easy access to many restaurants. There was also a grocery store just a few minutes away. The place was no frills but very comfortable and located on the first level for one of us who has difficulty with stairs. I would definitely stay here again!

Ferienwohnung entsprach unseren Vorstellungen
In dem schönen Altstadtgebäude haben wir (2 ältere Personen) die Wohnung gewählt, weil sie ebenerdig lag, zwei Schlafzimmer hatte und ein Bad mit großer Dusche statt Wanne. Der kleine für uns ausreichend große Wohnbereich war unter anderem mit zwei bequemen Ohrenbackensesseln ausgestattet, die mal gereinigt werden sollten. Das gleiche gilt für den Teppich. Die Betten waren sehr angenehm. In der Küche konnte keine Espresso-Kanne benutzt werden, weil nur ein Induktionsherd vorhanden war. Die zur Verfügung gestellten Töpfe sollten mal erneuert werden, nützlich wäre u. a. auch eine Besteckgarnitur, Glasschlüssel und ein kleines Arbeitsbrett zur Zubereitung einen Salates oder anderer Gerichte. Den Innenhof haben wir sehr genossen, auch zum Essen im Freien, nachdem ich den Tisch repariert hatte. Die Lage der Wohnung nur ein paar Schritte entfernt von der Promenade und den beiden Markthallen sowie einer Stadtbus-Haltestelle war sehr günstig. Öfters benutzt haben wir auch den Bus oder Zug zur Besichtigung von Faro, Kleinstädten und Ferienanlagen (Tavira, Pedras del Rei usw.). Von Olhao aus lohnt sich auch ein Besuch der vorgelagerten Inseln mit ihren weiten, schönen Sandstränden. In der Stadt haben wir in den zwei Wochen verschiedene Lokale ausprobiert, am besten wurden wir in den Restaurants „O Franguinho“ und im „Frango da Cidade“ bewirtet. Immer wieder gerne besuchten wir in der Nähe die reichhaltige, preisgünstige „Pastelaria Padaria Clamy“ und den Supermarkt „Pingo Doce“.
