Kondey is a historically significant island of the Northern Huvadhu Atoll in the Maldives. Famous for its four antique Buddhist hawittas (prayer mounds) and a beautiful coral garden off the coast, Kondey is an ideal spot for divers and history buffs alike.

The Buddhist stupas and Hindu statues on the island are more than a thousand years old. The limestone carvings of the region provide great archaeological insights into the religious history of the Maldives. The two-kilometre long coral garden is home to exotic tropical fish and hard corals. This site on Kondey island is an easy dive and offers stunning views of the colourful corals.
