Nestled on the southern shore of Lake Superior, Jarven Hytti is a luxury experience at an affordable price. The private setting provides beautiful views of the lake and its pink-sand agate beach. Not your typical north woods cabin, the architect-inspired Finnish style beach house is spectacular. It comfortably sleeps 8 persons. And, the two modern ,tidy bathrooms comfortably accommodate its guests. A modern, fully-equipped kitchen , a large family room with a stone fireplace, comfortable bedrooms and fireplace on the deck all add to the cozy , functional, vacation home. Luxury linens and native dwarf lake irises round out a truly wonderful getaway setting. Off the beaten track, near the Porcupine Mountain Wilderness/ , Jarven Hytti is the perfect base camp for your upper peninsula / Lake Superior adventure. Spring and summer . SUSTAINABILITY, THE WETLAND AND THE SHORE
JärvenHytti was designed with the input and approval of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and the Army Corps of Engineers. Every effort has been made to protect the adjacent wetland ( with its natural flora and fauna ) and the shoreline.

DOGS WELCOME. BUT, PLEASE REMEMBER THE DOG FEE. IT REALLY DOES REQUIRE MORE CLEANING TO MAKE JÄRVEN HYTTI SPIC ‘N SPAN FOR THE NEXT GUESTS.

Occasionally renters ask “why an additional nightly charge for each guest over the first two?” We are sure you understand , as with any household, additional residents add to the costs of operation. Scavenger services( charged by-the-bag), septic service( more pumping) ,laundry (sheets and towels) , utilities ( water, electricity) , cleaning services, general wear-and-tear and other overheads increase with the number of occupants. While most rentals are to groups of two, it would be unfair to price the basic nightly rate to prorate the additional costs associated with larger-group stays. Thank you for understanding.

UP Winter Get Away
absolutely wonderful place. loved the simple wood work design, the beautiful cozy fireplace, the view, need I say more, the well appointed kitchen, lacking for nothing. the bed was firm and comfy. and location so close to the Porcupine Mts perfect in the winter for down hill skiing and cross country skiing and snow shoeing which we enjoyed

Fantastic Getaway
I absolutely loved our stay. This is the one time we rented a house that looked lovely in the photos and was even better in person! I would move in. I was with my teen daughter, exchange student, and one of their friends for a ski weekend. We were all very impressed and very cozy and comfortable. It had everything we needed and was conveniently located to all we wanted to do.This was a great stay and I highly recommend!

Perfect Stay for Renewing Mind and Body
This property was a great location to renew and recover after a hard day of work. Even though the weather was treacherous over the weekend, the house was inviting, cozy and warm. The hosts were compassionate and helpful as we had a family need in the area. We are very grateful for their thoughtfulness. The property manager was amazing and helpful as well. Lake Superior getaway
We had an unforgettable stay at this charming VRBO on Lake Superior in Michigan. The cozy indoor fireplace was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The Christmas decorations made it feel even more magical, and we were so happy that we could bring our two dogs along to enjoy the getaway with us. We loved walking outside in the fresh snow, taking in the serene winter landscape. The highlight of our trip was when my then boyfriend, now fiancé, proposed to me right there—truly a romantic and wonderful experience. We can’t wait to return!

Stars, a comet, and the world’s largest pretzel!
We stayed at Jarven Hytti almost 3 years ago and knew we would come back some day. The timing finally worked out and our 2nd visit was every bit as wonderful as the first, so we’ll be back again … hopefully without such a long interlude between visits! Lake Superior is what draws us in the first place and it did not disappoint. The combination of big water and big sky makes for some pretty amazing views. We could watch for hours. Stars and Comet Tsuchinshan made for extra special night skies. We hoped for aurora, but didn’t see them this time. This was a wonderful break from our normal routine! Oh, and don’t miss the HUGE pretzel’s at Gigi’s Coffeehouse in Ontonagon, or the scrumptious pulled pork sandwiches at Roxie’s!

Amazing Property
This was probably the most beautiful property we've stayed at. The house was spotless, and had everything you could possibly need for your stay. Being 50% Finnish,I really appreciated all the Scandinavian decor (with a bit of Paris thrown in). We enjoyed the outdoor (and indoor) fireplaces. The property was just beautiful and situated on Lake Superior with wonderful starlit, dark sky views. We will definitely be back!!

Perfect Lake Superior get away!
We stayed for 3 nights in this perfect little cabin. It was exactly what we needed, direct access to Lake Superior, clean, well maintained with great hosts! The location is ideal for exploring and day trips to a lot of different destinations.

Michigan get away
We loved the location in conjunction with Lake Superior cant ask for it to be any handier, the Lake was calm the first few days and we were able to swim in it. We visited Bond Falls in Paulding MI and the Porcupine Mountains a lighthouse near Ontanogon and the Museum. Our party consisted of seven 4 adults 3 children ages 8,9 n 13 and the grandog. It was enough space for all to sleep however the person on the couch/bed in the living room should be the up n at it first person. Otherwise gets awakened by other early risers. Another couch for our party versus the chairs would have been welcomed more comfortable. I missed my home vanity for getting ready in the bathroom. To each his own. Thankful there were two bathrooms. I feel for a couple or even two couples the privacy n space is perfect. 1200 square feet with a party of 7 and a dog works but it gets a bit combersome. Nice place great communication think we will go bigger next time.
