I've been staying at the Royal for 3 years when visiting family. It's budget accommodation. They're currently renovating so the reduced prices reflect that. . The sheets are clean. Plenty of towels and the staff are great. Kitchenette isn't usable at present, but kettle & fridge in room. Restaurant downstairs. Light was broken in ladies shared toilet. That's an issue if you're booking a room with shared bathroom. Wifi is erratic on 2nd floor. I stayed in room 26 this time & it gets smoke from the kitchen. Rooms are on 1st & 2nd floor of hotel, so take that into account if stairs are an issue for you.

Magnificent 1906 hotel in the centre of Orange NSW. Currently undergoing renovations which will make it even better. Excellent value for money. We had dinner, bed and breakfast for two people for $AUD 175.

they are doing renovations so they use that as an excuse. we did not have any hot water, they were resetting it in the night but still no better in the morning. We did not have any channels on the TV. the manager came up and set us up with only one channel via the internet, which did not work continuously due to us being on the top floor. The bed was comfortable. the A/C was very inefficient as a heater, and the remote was difficult to work out (no instructions) We don't have A/C so didn't know how to work the remote.

They are in the middle of doing a lot of renovations, so some areas are very nicely do but other areas are rather old and tired. Should be lovely when all the works are finished. Dining room and meals are great

I stayed about three nights and the last night I remember I paid in the morning to stay one more night and someone the next day came to the room and just opened the door and didn't knock and told me you should have left yesterday you didn't pay, it was a terrible deal I must have consult first or review before acting that way

We get for what we pay. Room was bid durty on the roof and smelled little, fortunately I had room spray and then turned out to be okay. Check-in was quick and easy. No noise in the room in second floors.

Yes, it had a shared toilet, we knew that. However, it was much better than other accommodations that provide their own toilet and charge double or triple the amount for one night. Also, very important.
