I recently had a wonderful stay at The Hotel Monterey Le Frere Osaka and it was truly a great experience. The hotel staff were very accommodating and made sure that all my needs were met during my stay. The hotel's location was also fantastic, with close proximity to many attractions and areas of interest. Additionally, being next to the train station made it incredibly convenient for exploring the city and beyond. I would definitely choose to stay at this hotel again in the future and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient accommodation option at The Hotel Monterey Le Frere Osaka.

Ideally located for Osaka sightseeing
The hotel is a short walk from Osaka station making it a convenient hub from which to go sightseeing in Osaka, Nara, Kobe and a trip to Universal Studios. It is clean and comfortable with an excellent breakfast buffet in a large and smartly decorated dining room. The bath timing is about three-quarter size but very deep. There is a laundry room with three washing machines (Y300 per wash including detergent) and three dryers (Y100 per 30 minutes). The only negative points I have is that the only access to reception is via just three lifts at street level, and the reception area is too small for the size of the hotel and number of guests. Often the lift doors opened to a reception area full of guests and luggage.

It’s located near Osaka station not Shin- Osaka station where bullet train runs. A short bus or taxi ride. Bus station is near by to other points of interest. It takes little research to learn how to get around. People and hotel staff are not good at giving directions. Google walking map is not up to speed with multi Layered city.

Great location in Umeda. Entrance to underground station access right outside. Lots of eateries near and a Lawson at the street level of the hotel. Clean, pretty good size room, and staff very friendly and helpful

Best thing about this Hotel is the free Onsen for guest. The rooms were a little dusty especially around where the carpet meets the walls. Not a bad stay around the area. A little bit of a walk from the Osaka Umeda station (maybe a km or less). Since it’s a bit further, the area is a bit more run down and the alleyways have a more “business men/adult” feel… but it’s not bad at all just a bit different then the other areas we stayed at Tokyo and Kyoto.

Most hotels in Japan are similar depending on the price range. Hotel Monterey Le Frere Osaka compared to other hotels we stayed in stood out to us. Some staff, although not rude at all, did not express the overly friendly and welcoming personalities other hotels did. One other thing to note is that they do not have a lobby area where you can sit to rest or have a drink. Many guests find these areas useful, especially after coming back from a day of local site-seeing. They have a coffee machine which has a small table near it, but even that one table was sometimes restricted from using. These factors mentioned are enough not to pay their price point.

Location was good and Lawsons attached was very convenient. The cleaning staff was not professional- they threw cushions that were on the floor into our luggage when cleaning the beds. They kept bringing more slippers and pyjamas without taking away the old ones. Safety box was broken when we arrived, had to wait to get it fixed. The coffee in the lounge was rarely stocked and not very well kept. Overall service was an afterthought at this hotel.

Lovely stay here! It was convenient with the Lawsons around the corner and the station not too far away. The room was fairly spacious, though the bathroom a little small, but that didn’t matter too much for us. Overall, it was a great stay!
