This was my wife’s and my first time in Curacao. Avila made it a wonderful experience due to its amenities, location, and staff. Property had two private beaches with plenty of chairs. The area was well maintained. Food was above average for resort food, but down the street there is 4-5 restaurants and the hotel is only 10 minute walk from downtown. What made the property stand out was the attention and friendliness of the staff.

The snorkeling is excellent. The major down point: there are certain number of guests who smoke. Wish the hotel could set an area at the _downwind_ part (always the NW end) that smokers must stay at.

I really enjoyed my stay. I was always able to find chairs on the beach. The beach was relaxing and relatively quiet. The restaurants off the property are within walking distance with excellent food. The employees are nice and helpful.
