I made a reservation due to a snow storm. I needed to be at a meeting in Ottawa early Monday morning.
My daughter & I arrived around 3pm, it was a blizzard and -27 outside.
The front doors were locked with a sign saying work was being done in the floor. We stood outside while someone was in the lobby shampooing the carpet. It was cold, and he walked over like we were inconveniencing him.
A lady stood on the opposite side of the front desk watching us, the maintenance person stood near the door watching us and nobody at the front desk. What felt like five minutes, finally the maintenance person went behind the desk to get someone from customer service to check us in.
Nobody said hello, welcome, nothing.
We went down to the pool and housekeeping was all over our floor with laundry carts, bags of dirty laundry. Housekeepers were sitting in the hallway, on the ground on their cellphones, chit chatting to each other.
I’ve never seen anything like it. Very unprofessional.
It was 7:50pm, we could still hear housekeeping on our floor passing the vacuum from across the hall.
The noise was unreal. Could hear people talking in the hallway, doors slamming, I could hear the shower running in room next to us.
Maybe because I had a small child, trying to get ready for bed but this was something I had never experienced in a hotel.
The pool water was very cloudy and cold.
The hot tub looked a lot better.
