This hotel is in a great location. It has a great breakfast, Many on staff speaks English. The staff is very professional and helpful. My one critique is that one of the criteria I used for choosing a hotel was whether it had a pool. Upon arrival, I discovered that the pool was closed for renovation. This should have been posted on the website.

I really enjoyed my stay, the staff was pleasant, the location is ideal. Check-in and checkout was a breeze, very easy. The only issue I had was the elevator ( long wait, sometimes crowded), but that didn’t ruin my time there. My favorite thing was the breakfast ( large variety, tasted amazing)

The property was very clean and the staff was very helpful and accommodating.. the breakfast options were also great daily.. We stayed at Hotel Riu Plaza Panama between August 1st and 3d, booking two “city view” rooms — 2411 for my two sons, and 2408 for my wife and me. What we received was shockingly far from what was promised. Room 2411: The so-called “city view” was completely useless — the window was fogged and wet between the panes, making it impossible to see anything. Room 2408: There was no hot water until I called the reception, and even then it took 15 minutes of running water before it became usable — every single time we wanted a shower. The sink was clogged and would not drain. The toilet was broken, leaking and refilling every five minutes, creating loud, constant noise that made it nearly impossible to sleep the first night. Facilities: The lobby bar was under construction, forcing us to leave the hotel to find somewhere else to spend our evening — something we did not expect when booking a five-star property. These issues are completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one that claims to be five stars. We booked expecting premium comfort, proper maintenance, and basic functioning amenities — not a list of repairs and frustrations. This experience was stressful, disappointing, and far from the luxury we paid for. I expect a full or substantial refund for this stay as compensation for the multiple failures in service and amenities.

Dear Hotel Management, We are writing to express our concerns following our recent stay at Hotel Riu Plaza Panama. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet expectations due to a series of significant issues that impacted the quality and comfort of our visit. The water in our room was not functioning for several hours. When it was eventually restored, there was no hot water, making it impossible for us to shower or use the restroom facilities properly. This created a highly uncomfortable situation, especially as we were traveling in a large group with children. We were directed to use the spa facilities as an alternative, but these were overcrowded and not maintained to an acceptable level of cleanliness. We were not informed prior to arrival that the pool would be closed due to construction. This was particularly disappointing, as it significantly limited the available activities for our family. Additionally, while having breakfast near the construction area, debris and chemical odors from the pool work interfered with our meal. One of the elevators was out of service during our stay, causing long delays when trying to access our floor. Room service was substantially delayed. We were initially told it would take 20 minutes, but our order arrived nearly an hour later and with missing items. The phone in my room was out of order throughout my stay, despite assurances that it would be fixed. This made it very difficult to reach the front desk, and I had to rely on conta

We arrived on August 17th, there was no pool, the elevators kept going down. Our room was on the 21st floor. All the TV channels were in Spanish. No one there spoke English. So inconvenient. I love the RIU hotels, but by far this was my worse stay.

I booked this hotel knowing that they have a swimming pool but upon arrival I was told the pool is under construction. During my stay The hotel had a flood issue all the upper floors didn’t have usage of water, I wasn’t able to shower for two days, no one called me to apologized I think management is poor. My husband and I stayed at this property to celebrate our 12yr anniversary. The property, customer service and suite were amazing. The hotel is walkable to any great restaurants and shops. Additionally, the sushi and drinks at the lobby bar were delicious as well. I would definitely stay here again.
