We absolutely loved our stay at this charming, rustic cabin. Nestled deep in the mountains, it provided the perfect escape from society and noise, allowing us to truly disconnect. The kitchen's vintage feel added a special touch to the atmosphere, exactly what we hoped for in a mountain retreat. It looks and feels old but it's functional. Our family, including my wife, our 3-year-old daughter, and our 11-year-old son, enjoyed daily walks, lighting the fireplace, playing board games, and engaging in deep conversations. The lack of some modern conveniences and the need for manual tasks helped us bond as a family, sparking beautiful, spontaneous conversations. The cabin was perfect—clean, tidy, and well-maintained. The host was communicative and attentive, reaching out to us through messages. The road to the cabin might be challenging for some. This cabin provided an ideal setting for a peaceful, family-oriented getaway for us. We highly recommend it to anyone looking to unplug and reconnect with their loved ones.

Primitive remote cabin in need of upgrades.
The cabin has a beautiful setting. A beautiful fireplace room with a view, although the furniture is stained and the rug is dirty. A scary driveway, experienced 4x4 driver required. Overall price is reflective of conditions. Kitchen cookware is “end of life”. Required to take all trash including TP with you and find a disposal site. Mouse in the kitchen, no hot water in the kitchen and bathroom sinks, shower head heater provides minimal warmth for showering.

Peaceful oasis
The location is a peaceful oasis. It was easy to locate and only 2.5 hours from San José. It had rained lightly the day of our arrival. The next day, the road was slick and our 2x4 wasn't able to make it out without a pull. The tow took 90 minutes to arrive and cost $200. The property lists a hot tub. We did not locate one on the property. This was a disappointment as we came prepared to enjoy it. The power was out in the area the first hour or two when we arrived at dusk. We used our cell flashlights but could not locate candles or lamps on the property.

The cabin is just perfect if you want to disconnect from the rest of the world and enjoy the silence of the nature. Nice equipment, perfect view of the mountains and a big fireplace. JUST A NOTE: Visitors must know they need a strong 4x4 vehicle to leave the cabin. Nobody told us that.
