Very good

Our room was clean but very small. Almost too small for two people. Very difficult to get around the bed. Very little space for luggage. Bathroom was also very small but had essentials. No counter space and tiny shower. We were there for only one night so it was fine. Breakfast was quite good.

Just comments
It’s a great hotel, lots of character. Sadly we were able to have only two employees that were outstanding, one of them was Christian and the other the guy who worked there on Thursday afternoon…
Unique and historical hotel in the fascinating "Le Marais neighborhood" in Paris. Hotel is easily accessible via Metro station:" Bastille". You can reach the hotel from the airport via metro and train from the airport. Just one transfer. The are is bustling with restaurants, shopping, Bar, stores, galleries. The hotel is an historical French landmark. Staff is very helpful. AC works: A plus in Paris. Breakfast is good. Room is spacious enough and bathroom is well equipped. Overall is was satisfied. Will def stay again whenever in Paris!!!
Hotel Castex blends 18th century decor with modern amenities. My room was charming and overlooked Rue Castex. The pink and cream curtains are reminiscent of Marie Antoinette. There is a private modern bathroom. The staff speaks English and was friendly and helpful. The area is safe for walking alone at night and close the cafe’s and pâtisseries.
Absolutely wonderful stay - 6 nights and I was super pleased. Staff was friendly the shooing and dining a walk’s distance was excellent. Room was quaint and had everything I needed. And they gifted me a bottle of wine as a welcome gift. The wine was delicious! A definite recommend! Everyone spoke English!
We really loved the service in this place. When we arrived the reception was very friendly and let us know they had a wine bottle waiting for us in our room as a welcome gift. We were very nicely surprised! The room is small but very clean and the design is Parisian cute in our opinion. The location is walking distance to dinning restaurants and not far away from Nortre dame and other main attractions. The hotel reception also got taxi transportation for us as well. Overall this place had excellent certifications on the wall and we must say they deserve them. We would definitely come back to this place.
I think the staff and I got off on the wrong foot when I checked in. Apparently, check in hours end at midnight and I missed that information so I checked in later and had to wake up a staff person who was seemingly irritated. After check in, my key card deactivated the next night so I couldn't get into the building after midnight when I went to an Olympic game that ended late, so I once again had to wake up the staff to sort out that issue. My key card deactivated the next day during the day and I was able to request a brand new card for the remainder of my stay (which was 5 more nights at this point). The location of the hotel made staying there worth it but in the confrontation with the front office staff member on the 2nd night, I left my USA soccer pin somewhere in the lobby and didn't find it after that. I was just really overwhelmed with the aggressive response I received when I was locked out of the building through no fault of mine. There were other people staying there who were locked out of their rooms because of keycard issues and the front office staff (specifically the night person) was clearly irritated with the whole situation. I didn't feel really safe staying there and it wasn't because of the location, but because of the staff. I don't think that I will stay there again and I hope the people working there have found some time to relax-- maybe they were overwhelmed with Olympic Tourism. Hoping that was the case and they were able to find some quiet.
We had a lovely stay! Close to the metro and bus but also very walkable, lots of restaurants by the hotel and less touristy than other areas. Staff we friendly and accommodating, 5/5!
This is an older Grand Dame Hotel within easy walking distance to Bastille, Notre Dame - reopening December 2024 - and the Seine transportation such as Batobus to all major attractions. Having a 24 hour Concierge helps with Security and Privacy… Hotel is nearby to Gare du Lyon Train station - a short Taxi or longer walk to Hotel. Most Paris Taxi Drivers are very nice and helpful - others, can be very rude and have bad attitudes, don’t waste a minute of your time with these guys, move on to the next.
