While the pictures are relatively accurate (Photos appear to be taken with a wide angle lens as the property is much smaller than it looks), the ad for the property fails to mention the 145 stairs that you must climb down to get to the villa. Which wouldn’t be so terrible if they weren’t rugged-cut-into-the-cliff kind of stairs. This is after you walk along a very narrow path with a drop off on one side with no handrail and no lights on after a certain time of evening just to get to the start of the stairs. Definitely not for the faint of heart. Not the property owner’s fault at all, but still needs to be mentioned in the ad. Also, the cliff blocks all breeze so the stairs are especially brutal to take at any time of day and the property is always stifling hot. I mean, extremely hot! There is a fan and an A/C but even they couldn’t keep up with the stagnant hot air. As the photos allude, this is not a luxury retreat, this is for people who like very rustic surrounds. If you enjoy swarms of centipedes right outside your door, or are an entomologist, this place is excellent for you. We booked the place for four nights but were only able to make it through one night before we willingly wasted money on doubled booking the remaining three nights and staying nearby at a much more preferred property without bothering to ask the owner for a refund because we just wanted to be done with the place. I believe the property is handled by a booking agent which was helpful in assisting us with pre-booking a scooter, although this could have easily been done on your own as there is a scooter rental place at the top of the cliff. There are monkeys that live in the forest at the top of the cliff and we were warned not to leave anything outside on the deck as the monkeys may take your items. The cleaner took one of our scooter helmets for some strange reason (later returned it without issue) and when I enquired about the missing helmet via text with the booking agent they Initially suggested the monkeys may have taken it so that was bothersome. The view from the deck is very nice and faces south so you will get some great sunsets, although the deck is shared by the neighbouring villa so you will have zero privacy. There is beach access right outside your door which is nice when the tide is low. The villa staff is friendly and will help you with your luggage on the stairs which is very nice and definitely a requirement as it would be too difficult on your own.
