I totally understand that rooms purchased thru travel sites are generally lower-quality rooms. However, rooms purchased on these sites should be clean and useable. It was obvious when we arrived at our room that it hadn't been attended to in quite a while...layer of dust on the table surfaces, tv, etc. The bathroom wall by the shower was filthy. And, the couch cushions smelled very distinctly and strongly of urine. The poor housekeeping items I could deal with - like I said, I know the rooms are undesireables. However, the urine-smelling couch cushions were unacceptable. I did ask the front desk for fresh cushion covers and was told that there were none on hand but that a note would be made for our room for housekeeping to attend to that issue the next morning. We were there 3 days, and no one ever updated us on the status of our couch covers; so, we were unable to use the couch for our entire stay. Additionally, our stay included a Sunday - breakfast is until 10:30am that day. We arrived at the dining area at 10:05am, and most items at the hot counter were empty. The kitchen help informed us that there were not bringing out anything else hot but offered to add hot water to the empty gravy container to see if they could muster up enough to cover a biscuit. At checkout, I was informed that they just "got so busy" and were "short staffed" so things got overlooked. You're a hotel - it was spring break - don't you expect to be busy? Don't give excuses. Do better.
