Having stayed in many Hostels around the world over the past 30 years, I can honestly say that Meet Hostel has been my favourite. I've made some notes below
Pro's:
Relaxed and friendly atmosphere
Rooms and communal areas extremely clean throughout (except kitchen)
Great aircon
Superb location
Self service breakfast is included and available for 3 hours
Kitchen for guests to store food and cook if required
Lockers in dorms and in corridors for luggage storage
Multi lingual and very helpful staff, very knowledgable about local area
Roof terrace and outside space for guest use, and space to store bikes
Con's:
Not ideal when travelling as a single parent, has only 2 rooms with 2 beds in so only alternative is the 8 bed female dorm (you have to pay extra if female).
When we checked in they said dorms were only for adults, so although I'd already paid, they were going to turn away my 12 year old. The manager said it would be OK this time, but I would be hesitant to book again in case it was a different manager on duty.
Warm breakfast is poor, only a scrambled egg and hot dog - previous stays here included pastries.
Kitchen gets crowded and there was no hot water for washing pots or tea towel for drying them
Having said all that, we do love Meet Hostel and have met some fabulous people when staying there.
