Fabulous hotel
Fantastic stay it’s a beautiful hotel and in an amazing location. Breakfast was out of this world and I would highly recommend this friendly hotel where staff go the extra mile to make guests feel special

A nicely restored older building with lots of history. Enjoyed our stay and the helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Parking can be a challenge, but lots of local restaurants and shops.

We loved our stay at the Original Douro Hotel. The property is beautiful and the team were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. We enjoyed breakfast which included a variety of fresh fruit and grains with vegan milk options. Thank you for your hospitality!

We truly appreciated the magic of the amazing restoration job of this historic hotel! Such friendly and welcoming staff and quiet location but walkable to everywhere. If you are celiac, give them notice and they will prepare a GF breakfast option. We absolutely LOVED our stay! *Only thing to note about the hotel that could be an issue for some is the train the runs late into the night and early in the morning right out the back - but the soundproofing is so well done / the old walls so thick we only heard a deep vibration/rumbling in our room that we generally slept through (though I wear earplugs) - may be a different story if your room faces the train tracks so be sure to request a street facing room if you are an light sleeper. Thanks again Original Douro!!

Loved everything about this hotel, definitely stay here again. Orig 1880 bldg was a hotel. Bldg underwent 3 yr renovation to be the great hotel it is.Don’t let the 2* rating stop you from staying here. I booked a superior double w balcony. Great sized room, nicely furnished, comfy bed & pillows, 2 balconies, soaker tub.Wonderful staff, great bfast, nice bar, shop, convenient location.

The location is within walking distance to the train station and fine dinings. The property is newly renovated and the price includes breakfast. Staff are extremely friendly and the property is clean. Hihgly recommended!

The staff was friendly and allowed us to drop our luggage off early and helped us set up our tour’s & reservations in the Douro. Location is so easy from the train. The hotel is beautiful, clean, quiet and comfortable with food on-site if you get in late. The complimentary breakfast was excellent! Thanks so much!

Ok place in central Regua.
The hotel is in a central location in Regua. For such a. Highly rated hotel we were surprised by some Shortcomings. Staff couldn’t help us find a few coins for parking. No umbrellas available to lend on those pouring days. And the breakfast had no hot items. We were a tad disappointed overall.
