Hotel was rather shabby and run down. Rooms were basic, carpets old and worn throughout. Needing upgraded bathrooms old and worn out.

Obviously a grand old hotel back in the day, and looking a little dated now. Based on a 1 night stopover, did not use the dinner or breakfast facilities, so not a complete review.
Stayed here one night and thank god it was only that booked a superior room and got basic one food was very bad got food poisoning both of us as soon as we walked in we wanted to walk back out it was like walking into the 1970s light shade full of bugs and dust carpets disgusting looking would not recommend to anyone
I have been going to Pitlochry Hydro for the last 26 years and still enjoy going. Unfortunately the heating broke down in minus conditions but staff could not apologise enough and it was just unfortunate.
It is in a lovely little town with lots of lovely walks and easy access to other towns and sight seeing places. Looking forward to March when we will return. Thank you again to Chris (Hotel Manager) and his staff. X
Overnight stay at Hydro 11/12/24. Everything really good with room, meals etc but very cold in public areas. Was given electric heater for the room which was then cosy. Not sure if heating had problem!
We enjoyed our stay at the Pitlochry Hydro hotel. The location is great for walking into the town centre, 10 mins downhill, a bit longer coming back uphill. The staff were polite and helpful and the buffet breakfast was very good. We didn’t have dinner in the hotel but we did enjoy a few drinks at the bar and coffees in the large and comfy lounge areas. Although some parts of the hotel were looking a bit tired this didn’t spoil our experience and the swimming pool was a nice bonus.
The Pitlochry Hydro is comfortable but dated. This is an old building so expect uneven floors and doors that don’t fit properly.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We made good use of the leisure facilities on arrival. Nice pool, not too busy and the jacuzzi and steam room were good too. The showers in the ladies changing rooms have no water pressure.
We had dinner in the bar, basic burgers and fries but fine for us.
The room was comfortable, we didn’t like the double bed which was two singles zipped together. Warm and cosy. No view but we could open the window which we needed to do.
Unfortunately some of the other guests were smoking something quite fragrant and it came down the corridor and into our bedroom. Mainly as there was a very large gap under the door. I did speak with the night porter and the receptionist on check out and highlighted the issue. Such a shame as it spoils it for everyone else trying to enjoy their stay!
Spa facilities good not busy friendly staff reasonable prices for food and drinks clean roomy accommodation only downside strange noise that kept me awake most of the night maintenance staff looking into the problem so overall good value for money oh and dog friendly which is nice to see
