Great location for easy walking to the Pittsburgh Penguin hockey arena. Staff was extremely friendly during check in and check out. Hotel is a bit dated and could use some upkeep but it’s location was worth it

Convenient location for area activities…

Rooms are not sound proof, you will hear all the city noise. Front desk and restaurant staff are friendly but day parking staff are obnoxious and unprofessional, rude. The second shift parking staff were pleasant and friendly. The pool water was extremely cold, I would suggest having controlled heating. In mid of downtown expect a lot of activities and business, there were marathons and several games going on during our stay… and on top of that we were mins from university atmosphere so another area of busy congestion with markets, games, activities and lots of business- parking is pretty hard to find.

Not great area if you’re bringing dogs

The hotel was pretty outdated. However, our room was ice cold and the shower had the best water pressure I’ve seen in a long time. What stunk was that none of the ice machines worked. We brought our dogs and struggled to find places for them to go potty nearby. There are 2 little parks but they close at 5pm. The nicer, bigger park across from the hotel is filled with homeless and they have a dog that roams around unleashed and barks all night. So we couldn’t even use that park because we were very nervous about the dog not on a leash.

The property is well located with easy access to transportation to the stadiums area. he hotel room furniture is old, and some how stiky to the touch. Carpet was ripped. The mattresses were too soft for my taste, and were already deformed, with a noticeable dip in the middle section. The first day no one came to do the room, and I have to call the front desk to have it done and get clean towels. The second day the room was done, but we get no water bottles. I call again to the front desk to get them, but they never came. I went down to the front desk to get the water, and I was told in some rude manner that the hotel only provide water bottles the first night, the rest of the time, I will need to buy my own or take the tap water, which by the way was coming out brown due to some repairs being done to the plumming.
