After 1st night, I would have given this hotel 5 stars, but I am disappointed in how they handled (or didn’t handle) a power outage. Though the power outage was not their fault, there was virtually no attempt to communicate with us, even to simply explain that it was a city-wide issue, out of their control. I receive text after text in terms of upgrading and paying more for additions, but there can’t be one text to explain the power outage and how it was affecting guests, along with maybe some suggestions on where to find air conditioning and places to charge our electronics? I felt isolated and clueless. I tried the operator and no one answered until I tried many more times. I went up to the front desk and they said there is no power and didn’t know when it would be back on. I’m in a city unfamiliar to me and couldn’t even track the electric company on my own. We slept with no a/c, I couldn’t use my cpap machine, so I barely slept. I woke up exhausted, and while everyone was helpful upon checking out, it felt odd that no one mentioned the outage, and simply apologize for the inconvenience. Even if not hotel’s fault, this is a 4-5 star hotel, and it is just kind and professional to check in on the guests. Even with mass email. Unless I brought it up, no one mentioned it. My problem wasn’t that they couldn’t fix the outage more quickly (it was over 12 hours), it was that they pretended it wasn’t happening. And prior to that, the staff everywhere was EXCELLENT!
