Pros: Location is great! Staff were so kind. I had the junior suite, which I loved. The layout was nice. Everyday there were activities. Cons: There really isn’t much of a beach. By the main pool there are cabanas that they ask you to pay extra for. The Grill restaurant “Brasas” was terrible. They don’t start serving alcohol until after 11.

Thank you for a great stay, we had a wonderful time. I do suggest serving alcohol before 11am. Maybe 10am. Your cut off time of 11pm is fine during the weekdays but i suggest serving until at least 1am on the weekends! Food was above average. Breakfast was amazing. The gentelman at the omelet station was awesome, best breakfast we ever had in an all inclusive. Staff is very friendly. Its a little smelly due to the beach but i know thats out of your control. It would be nice to allow smokers to smoke on the balcony or at least create a nice little smoking section so were not herded up out in front in the way of buses and taxis, maybe a nice little spot with a few seats and some ashtrays so people arent throwing them all over. We always threw ours in the trash bit most people did not. Booze selection was better than most places. Beds were ok but could use some better pillows. Overall I'd recommend. Love the lacation in walking distance to town.

We paid for King size beds, they were not available and got double beds. I would expect giving some kind of free upgrad for the inconvinence. The beds were horrible hard and uncomfortable down to the pillows.This resorts more for young crowd looking to party and drink. Food was as expected nothing impressive. We decided go out on 5th Ave to eat out there, given we just stayed for a day but unimpressed. I will never come back.

Food was actually very good. Room was clean, our view was not the greatest and the ceiling fan did not work. The staff made the events in the pool fun. Over all a small resort but it has everything you need to enjoy yourself.

The service and food were good, as was the delightful massage. Unfortunately, we had issues during our stay. There were roof and patio leaks when it rained, causing puddles to form in our room. My companion and I slipped as a result of this. We tried reporting this upon our departure but the person at the desk suggested we left the patio door open when it rained (we did not). There was also nonstop pressure to pay for extras, including excursions. We eventually did book an excursion for the following day, but then my partner woke up with a migraine. The tour company refused to refund any of our payment unless we furnished a doctor’s note. That is ludicrous. Who goes to see a doctor in a foreign country to diagnose a migraine, when the treatment for migraine is pain medicine (that we had) and rest? Not a stellar experience.

We had a wonderful 5 night stay at Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen. We were impressed with the breakfast buffet, Zarape (Mexican) and Bella (Italian) restaurants and appreciated the service level from all staff including drinks service at the pool. Our stay was enhanced with a spa package and the evening entertainment! Don’t miss the fire show! Our one criticism is that we had booked a king bed room however because the available room had broken A/C, we were changed to a room with two double beds which wasn’t ideal - otherwise we would have had to pay extra for a room upgrade! My thought was that if something was not functional, it would be on the establishment to cover an upgraded room.

Smaller resort and they work with they have which reduces options on the resort but did fine with their options. Staff was friendly and main reason I didnt give a one star and access to shopping area. I didnt like the very limited bar areas and early closure of pool bar. But mainly theyre room doors are extremely loud. My wife and I would hear doors closing all night long every night and echos all through the hallway.

The best thing about this resort is undoubtedly the staff and the chefs. With our diet restrictions (vegetarian), each and every staff member and chef we came across were amazing. Shout out to Alejandro Arcaza, the sous chef, who visited our table quite often to confirm we had everything we needed and had some excellent desserts made for us. Chefs - Louis (breakfast butfet), Carlos (lunch buffet) and Antonio (at Bella) made amazing food. The manager, Glendi, was super helpful and Gabriel (server) was really friendly. The cafe is nice but I wish they had some eggless desserts. I loved the market out front to do some shopping. When we got to the resort, we were not happy with our rooms. We got junior suite with king bed. While the room was quite spacious, it was really noisy and the view from balcony was with some machinery. There was no way you would want to sit there with that view and the noise. The pictures were deceiving when booked online for the junior suite. We spoke to front desk and were shown another room that was half the size of first one and small washroom (but less noise) so no point of junior suite. We turned the room down and requested one when it became available. Thankfully after 2 days we moved into a room with very less to no noise comparatively and a good balcony. Another thing we found out at the resort is that there was $10 USD delivery charges for room service. Also there was no beach close the swimming pool. Overall we enjoyed the stay!
