This is a unique B&B for a very friendly, and retreat-like setting. It is found down a long country road, in a small village. The room is part of the building, but you need to go outside to access it. It has an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Nicely decorated.
In the main part of the building, there is a communal kitchen with large refrigerator, which we found helpful and made use of. There is no cooker, but a handy microwave if needed. There is also a large reception.dining room, where breakfast is served. There is also an area with tea and coffee if you would like to make yourself some during the day or evening. Again, nicely decorated.
The rooms face out on ancient woodland of which you can stroll through and down to a very large pond. In good weather, I can see this as an idyllic, peaceful retreat, away from the hustle and bustle.
We found the cost good value, especially including a home cooked breakfast. We stayed at the end of February.
Bernard, our host, seemed to be as helpful and interesting as could be. His English is pretty good, and he enjoyed a banter of Franglais with us as we spoke a little French. I get the feeling that until recently, this property was mainly visited by the French. However, Bernard has made up some informational sheets in English to be helpful.
With notice, Bernard will also prepare a nice dinner for about €25 per person including wine. We had a delightful Breton meal with another couple, some of the ingredients from the garden!
