Very good

When I arrived the door was shut. No one around. Wasn't told that I had to ring the number on the door to alert them to my arrival. Was given a code to get through the front door. My room key was on the inside of my room.
Never saw anyone that evening and similarly in the morning when I went out initially for a coffee at a local cafe and then returned to check out. I left having seen nobody!!
Property is in a picturesque location but rooms and facilities were not great. The room was painted dark green, with a dark green carpet and even with all the lights on it was dark! No in room drinks (tea / coffee / water) facility and no bar. Drinks purchased at reception. Breakfast expensive and very poor
The hotel is a typical old French style hotel. where you are left to your own devices. No one offered to help with the luggage. What was presumably the owner gave me the wrong code for the Wi-Fi. There was no indication in the room as to what this was. The door to the room was warped so that it was difficult to open. the "free parking" was a yard at the side of the house which was filled with an enormous campervan which meant that no one could get in and as there was only ever room for two cars at most it was really a non starter. Breakfast was two big chunks of baguette and a croissant with some apricot jam. Cereal choice was cornflakes or what looked like bran flakes. Some dried fruit was available. Not very good value for money
Was an unique room with timber frame beams. A climb up to the attic room but worth it!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
An old, old hotel in a cute village, so what we expected was exactly what we received. The couple who ran the hotel spoke no English which we managed to overcome with some humor. Room was clean and bathroom newer but still a little tired. It suited our purpose and the town had several good restaurants. If you want modern it's not for you but if you want olf French it is a good bet at a fair price...
We arrived very late and staff had code and key waiting for us. Decor was outdated but funky and cool. Great view of the river. Cathedral was right behind us.
A pleasant experience from beginning to end. The owners responded quickly to a querying e-mail we sent after we'd booked. The hotel is easy to find, even at night, with parking directly outside on the quiet street - the car was in view of our window. The whole operation is small, and so on Sundays after breakfast there is no reception/check-in and the owners manage things accordingly. When we left they kindly showed us a place to visit on our way to Dieppe - it was a good piece of advice.
The hotel has no restaurant and eating facilities in Pont de l'Arche itself are very limited - the creperie 'Ou Est Louis?' is in our view well above average for that type of place.
Giverny, Evreux, Les Andeleys and Rouen are in easy reach. For Rouen we took the 2-hourly intercity from Val-de-Reuil (free parking at the station).
