A charming rustic retreat with lake views and easy access to Porlezza!

Occupying a prominent lake view position along the Lake Lugano shore, and built against a stone cliff-face, this rustic-style retreat for 2 offers a unique and restful setting, away from modern life yet within easy walking distance to it!

The couple-friendly property features accommodation over two floors with a country style open plan living area with a comfortable sitting area, TV and DVD player and a rustic open fireplace for warm cosy evenings. Exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings provide a rustic romantic charm. A dining area also features and a kitchenette provides all the desired appliances for a self-catering holiday including a cooker hob, kettle, coffee machine and toaster. The property also benefits from air conditioning.

For those of you who need to keep in touch with work or family, Wi-Fi Access is also available in the property.

From the living room open tread stairs lead to a mezzanine floor with a bright double bedroom and a modern shower room conveniently situated off from the bedroom.

One of the best features of this property is its sunny covered terrace with balcony which boasts breathtaking views over Lake Lugano and the picturesque town of Porlezza. The spacious balcony provides the perfect setting to enjoy daytime sunbathing and a glass of wine in the evenings.

From the property the resort town of Porlezza is within easy walking distance and features a picturesque promenade with cafes, gelaterias, a variety of restaurants and a wide choice of shops and supermarkets.

The natural surroundings are beautiful and are popular year round with hikers. The nature reserve at Lago di Piano also provides some lovely walks and a great place for cycling and fishing.

For golf lovers the Menaggio & Cadenabbia Golf Club, one of the oldest clubs in Europe, is just a 15 minutes drive away, on the Menaggio hillside by Lake Como.

The cosmopolitan delights of Lugano city can be easily reached just a 25 minutes drive away with beautiful café lined piazzas, wonderful shopping arcades with designer shops, fresh food markets and also providing visitors with a wide choice of entertainment including bars, nightclubs, a stunning new casino and annual cultural and musical events.

The complex offers parking with the main modern Palazzo providing a visitor information desk, laundry facilities, a hair salon and a computer shop.

Visitors can enjoy the stunning lakefront terrace with its contemporary Panama cafe with outdoor seating and the contemporary Italian restaurant ideal for authentic alfresco dining. The evenings are fabulous here and locals gather to enjoy aperitifs and each other’s company as the sun sets over the lush mountain tops.

A sunny lake front outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts and mini golf with children’s play area are perfect for daytime fun and the beautiful parkland is ideal for dog walking, cycling and jogging, with lovely areas to enjoy lunchtime picnics under the shade of trees. A sandy beach is also a fabulous feature of the complex and makes a great place to sunbathe, with the Lake Lugano providing the most stunning of backdrops!

From the complex a bridge leads over a passing stream to the promenade of Porlezza where cafés, restaurants and ice cream parlours can be enjoyed and where the main lake road with frequent bus route passes through.

Unikt feriehus med god beliggenhed, men med nogle få mangler
Helt unikt hus med meget smuk udsigt direkte til Luganosøen og beliggenhed tæt på dejlig mindre by. Den store åbne stue og det udendørs køkkenareal er smukke og velfungerende opholdssteder. Soveværelset på første sal er mindre praktisk, meget småt, kun en enkeltstående bøjlestang tøj og minimalt lys. Vi boede i huset en meget varm periode. Desværre fungerede aircondition ikke, og det varede et par dage før en mand kom ud for at sætte det i gang. Det kunne dog alligevel kun køre på meget lav ydeevne, og da det er installeret i stueetagen kunne det ikke køle temperaturen ned i soveværelset i overetagen, så det blev nogle meget varme nætter. Der er ikke pool og vaskemaskine. Af udlejningsannoncen fremgik det, at der i et nærliggende kompleks var adgang til pool og laundry service. I første samtale med det lokale udlejningskontor efter ankomst blev vi informeret om, at disse faciliteter ikke havde fandtes i længere tid, og det blev også påstået, at det ikke længere fremgik af annoncen. Det er ikke korrekt, da det stadig tydeligt fremgik af annoncen, og adgang til disse faciliteter var faktisk medvirkende til vores valg af dette hus. Der er trafikstøj fra vejen igennem den meget nærliggende by, men det vænner man sig til., og trods alt er en by med indkøbsfaciliteter tæt på også en fordel, især når der er tale om en så charmerende by. Sammenfattende har vi haft en dejlig ferie, og har nydt den fantastiske beliggenhed og det charmerende hus. Men huset ligger ikke ligefrem i den billige ende, og vi kunne forvente, at der idet mindste var fungerende indendørs nedkølingsmuligheder, og at de annoncerede eksterne services rent faktisk fandtes.
