Outwardly promising. The grounds are lovely and well kept and the drive in is stunning. Inside however it is a bit disappointing. Loads of promise. Nice beds and big rooms. But for a hotel with aspirations the little things start to grate -like the plug that doesnt work in the handbasin, the taps operating the shower/bath not working properly, and the difficulty to get a cup of tea or coffee. Why not facilities in the room which is common if there isnt the staff to provide it? Breakfast was not cheap and disappointed too. No cereal, and the bowls for the fruit were incredibly minute, seemed that they didnt want customers to help themselves to too much. The staff were considerate and helpful but hard/impossible to find at times.
All this will make it unlikely we will return which is ashame and this might be common as there were no other guests there. And it could have been so lovely. All the factors are in place for this to be a super place.
Hostess was amazing. Rooms large, extremely clean and comfy. An unbelievable value for this type of accomodation. One day I would love to return for a few nights.
Another top class accommodation, beautiful and historic in a lovely part of France. We stayed here having travelled from Nantes to Saintes (which is HIGHLY recommended) and enjoyed a wonderful evening meal at the nearby village of Taillebourg where we sat outside at a riverside restaurant watching the sun go down over the Charente - exquisite ... just like Chateau de Mouillepied

The area was great, the Château was a little run down and in need of some TLC
Lovely, quirky place to stay. Some great restaurants a short drive or a good walk away on the river.

In my opinion its towards low end 3 star accommodation, in what is a nice chateau in beautiful grounds.
The room and particularly the bathroom need renovation. I checked before booking other traveller's photos and a got good deal, and so was content with value for money and knew what to expect. Had I paid full price and have higher expectations I would have been disappointed with the standing of the hotel.

Un très beau site découvert un peu par hasard et bien situé pour une étape nord-sud. Accueil particulièrement sympathique en période de restrictions. Chambre spacieuse. On a beaucoup aimé le cadre et le calme. Nous reviendrons en des temps plus favorables.
Propriétaire très chaleureux, avec une démarche écologique pour la gestion du domaine, de bonnes adresses de restaurants et tourisme alentour, à recommander +++

La région offre une foultitude d'activite
C'est une très belle demeure qui nous a séduit par son authenticité, le charme des vieilles pierre, ses hectares de verdure bien entretenus avec à la tête une propriétaire sympathique, avenante et surtout très méritante de porter à bout de bras cette belle vieille dame !
Nous avons passé 4 jours au calme dans le petit logis, indépendant du chateau. C'était parfait pour un séjour de découverte des trésors de la charente maritime (site gallo romain du Fâ, paléosite de st cézaire) sans oublier l'océan pas loin non plus ! Béatrice P.
