Stunning Views from Waterfront Log Cabin With Fireplace On The Chesapeake Bay

The water view is stunning, described as breathtaking and exquisite. A rustic and cozy log cabin, in the woods, with a fire place, on a cliff, on the water. A great place to relax, walk the beach or nearby hiking trails. Come walk the beach and enjoy the expansive view from the deck, admire the fall foliage, or stay inside during cozy fall or crisp winter weather with a fire going. Look for fossilized sharks teeth on the community's private beach, or watch lightly falling snow on the water and trees, while you're warm and toasty inside with a fire going. Relax, enjoy the view and be at peace in every season.

Note: This property, located about 15 minutes from Exelon's Calvert Cliffs, offers a cozy home with a beautiful view and fireplace. Multi-week winter stay discounts are available, making it a great spot to stay while working nearby.

This listing contains terrific information about my cabin and what you should know to have a most enjoyable stay. I hope you'll read to the end.

On clear nights, the cabin offers a stunning stargazing experience, away from city lights, where you can marvel at the brightness of stars and possibly see the Milky Way. Sitting on the deck, you can enjoy the peacefulness of the waves and the beauty of the night sky. A full moon adds an extra touch with shimmering moonlight on the water, making for a memorable experience.

This charming log cabin, originally built in the 1930s and carefully updated over time, combines rustic appeal with modern comforts, including central air, a La-Z-Boy sofa, Smart TV, Wi-Fi, and a fully-equipped kitchen. It sleeps 5 with a king bed, twin bed, and queen sofa bed. Located just an hour from Washington DC and Annapolis, it's the perfect cozy getaway.

I value diversity. LGBTQIA travelers welcome!

Relax surrounded by nature and stunning waterfront views, or be active and walk the beach looking for shark's tooth fossils, or hike nearby nature trails. The large windows and full deck let you enjoy the view in comfort. The perfect weekend or holiday getaway place, especially with the cozy fireplace going. Located on a 65-foot cliff, it's just a short walk to a beach and a 5-minute drive to a private community beach. Stroll the beach and enjoy the excitement of searching for fossilized shark's teeth that have washed up from the Chesapeake Bay. Walk the paths in the community or the trails in the nearby American Chestnut Land Trust and enjoy the scenic natural beauty. Visit local museums and historical sites. Eat at local restaurants or prepare your own food and dine on the deck while enjoying the waterfront view.

I love my neighbors. They are the best! Together we all enjoy a very quiet and relaxed neighborhood surrounded by nature's beauty. I'm committed to finding guests who will maintain the tranquility, respect community rules, and avoid parties or events. If you enjoy nature and a calm, relaxing atmosphere, you're welcome to request a stay at the cabin.

Internet Service is generally quite reliable and speedy. Neither I nor guests have had any trouble using Zoom or doing other online video conferencing.

The main bedroom downstairs contains a king bed. There is a small, rustic, attached full bathroom, closets, and five windows offering direct views of the Chesapeake Bay.

The second bedroom upstairs is an alcove off of the dining room, so it has only 3 walls but is private from the living room. It has a twin bed surrounded by book shelves and from that bed you can see the Chesapeake Bay and have great views of the sunrise while staying cozy under the covers. There is a full bathroom upstairs and a closet for clothes.

The living room couch folds out into a queen-sized bed with an inflatable pillow top. Positioned in front of the fireplace, it offers great views of the Chesapeake Bay through the dining room.

The path from the parking area to the main floor of the cabin is step-free, making for an easy walk.

Some Terrifically-Important-But-Not-Terribly-Exciting Details About Cleaning, Linens, Pets and Babies - Please Please Read This! The cleaning fee includes professional cleanings both before and after your stay (yahoo for you!). Bring your own bed sheets, bathroom and kitchen towels, or use mine for an extra laundry use fee (yahoo for you and me!). Babies who cannot walk or crawl are welcome, but otherwise there is a minimum age of 5 for all guests. Some pets are allowed for a pet fee, 55 lbs maximum per pet (if larger, discuss with owner for a possible waiver). Most dogs under 2 years of age or who bark frequently are not allowed. If the total weight for 2 or more pets is more than 55 lbs, then at minimum an additional (and potentially more) pet fee will be charged. At the time you book your stay, please send a message and let the owner know your pet's age, breed, weight, barking habits & degree of housebrokeness. The cabin's pet guidelines can be sent in advance to you if you'd like, and if you book a stay they'll be sent to you to confirm that you and your much loved furry pal can follow them. After you schedule a stay we'll talk live over the phone, then a customized contract (the same one VRBO makes available to you to download and read before scheduling your stay) will be sent to you for signature. Now, wasn't that all very interesting?

Cozy Bayfront Cabin with Amazing Views
There are so many reasons to visit Scientists’ Cliffs in the winter, especially if you enjoy cozying up with your honey by the beach. The warm, inviting cabin features an oversized hearth and breathtaking 180-degree views of the Chesapeake Bay from atop a cliff. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the endless hiking opportunities, whether it’s searching for shark teeth along the beach or exploring the nearby land trust trails. As the neighborhood history book in the cabin notes, “Scientists’ Cliffs is not fancy. You have to like roughing it to some degree.” But don’t let that deter you—host Brett is always available virtually to ensure your stay goes smoothly. We can’t wait to return, especially with our Vizsla, who absolutely loved it!

Serenity Now
Forget your cookie cutter, unlived in and unloved rentals. If you’re looking for a quirky, rustic, eclectic authentic 1930’s log cabin, a genuine family home (Brett is an exceptional host and wants you to love his home as much as he does) surrounded by unspoiled nature with an unparalleled view of the magnificent Chesapeake Bay this is the ticket. From the crackling fireplace to the panoramic water view I felt like I was living on an historic old boat, with every breath of the restorative air on the beautiful deck, I could feel the stress of city life leaving me. I spent hours just watching the colours of the water change, and the birds of prey pass overhead. My elderly pup & I loved our daily visits to the beach and walks around the hilly neighborhood and the nature trails.

A cozy getaway
We were welcomed by a very cozy, warm, clean cabin. Peaceful, restful, gorgeous view and pretty much everything you would need in a cabin. It is important to remember it is a cabin so not all the comforts of home but pretty close. The deck and the view of the Chesapeake is amazingly soothing. Eagles daily flying overhead, trails to walk, and sail boats across the Bay. Truly a wonderful stay and perfect for tranquility. Will be back. Our host is not on site yet very attentive. We had to contact him a couple of times and he was readily available within minutes. Check in easy. Check out easy. Just a great stay overall.

Shark Tooth and Fossil Hunting
We stayed at the cabin for my son's 9th birthday. The cabin was a perfect for us. The views of the bay are spectacular. There is small beach within a 5 minute walk from the cabin. We had great luck finding shark teeth and other fossils there. South beach is a 5 minute drive and again we had no problem finding shark teeth. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we're already talking about a return trip. The owner is super proactive and goes above / beyond to make sure you have a great trip.

Peaceful Quiet Retreat on the Chesapeake
The Navy cabin absolutely exceeded our expectations. It checked all of our boxes plus more! It is located in a private, quiet community, has a waterfront view, beaches within walking distance, and wildlife galore. Our first evening there we were lucky to witness a bald Eagle perch on a tree right outside. He visited us once more during our short trip! Brett is a wonderful host, dare to say the best host we've had the pleasure of dealing with through VRBO. His attention to detail was very much appreciated. His communication was above and beyond! We really felt at home with his hospitality. We were able to bring our furbaby(dog) with us, which completely sealed the deal. The yard was just beautifully landscaped before our arrival and new windows installed downstairs. The Navy cabin is such a gem! We were sad to leave but are hoping to visit again very soon! Thank you Brett, for allowing us to share in all it's beauty.

Lovely Bay View cabin experience
My husband and I had a marvelous stay at Brett's cabin by the Bay in the winter time. One of our favorite aspects of his cozy retreat is its hominess and maritime accents in the decor. With stunning views of the water from the deck that's fifty feet above the Bay, each day and evening offered fantastic bird watching and nature moments. Brett's cabin was clean and comfortable, and he thought of everything to make it a great place to relax and settle in--from a variety of cookware and dishes to soft towels and comfy sitting areas. The neighborhood was quiet, which was just what we were looking for. We really appreciated Brett's friendly and available communication when we had some questions, or when he let us know about something in advance. An all-around wonderful host! We can't wait to go back.

A Very Special Place
We walked in.. headed right to the deck. I almost started to cry. You could not tell where the water ended and the sky began. Just like the description. A perfect place to unwind, relax and reset. The view from almost every window was amazing. The history of the community is fascinating. Yeah, it was a wee bit musty, but it's an old cabin on the water. Open the windows for a bit to air it out, and your golden. The bed was so comfortable. I actually slept, which is odd when I am away. My husband walked every morning, which is what he does when he is on vacation. We found some cute little coastal towns for lunch and dinner. Brett was amazing from start (I rented it 6 months ago) to finish. He was quick to respond any time I had a question. I want to visit this cabin in every season. I'd love to cozy up by the fire in the Winter. I hated to leave. We saw a bald eagle, and so many birds. The night sky was brilliant. It's not often you see so many stars. I highly recommend a stay at The Navy Cabin!! Thank you Brett!

The Three Sisters
We loved the view and property. Fascinating cabin. It was a little musty but that is to be expected of a wood cabin that is close to 100 years old. All three of us enjoyed watching the water and rages/ospreys sitting on the tall tree above the cabin. We had long discussions as to if they were bald eagles or ospreys. In the end we decided they were beautiful and it really didn’t matter. It is a great place to relax and enjoy nature. I recommend it. My brother in law saw a picture and is eager to come visit. He is an architect and loved the pictures of the cabin. He also loves the bay. Thank for the opportunity to stay at Bre’s cabin.

Still Blown Away! Highly Recommend!
Brett is the best host we have ever had! He makes sure to speak to you personally, know the details of the type of experience you seek, and is readily available to answer any questions! The view from the cabin is breathtaking! We experienced the best bird-watching ever, starting with a pair of eagles that would come to rest at a tree next to this cabin. Bring your binoculars to watch the eagles, osprey, seagulls, hummingbirds, pelicans, and so many more species of birds! You will also enjoy colorful butterflies going from one beautiful flower to another. We had our 8 and 10-year-old boys and went down to the private beach to walk, look for shark teeth, collect shells, and learn about jellyfish. Generally, it is swimmable, but this year, jellyfish were everywhere, including Point Look Out, St Mary's, and Solomon's Island. The neighbors told us every several years, there are a lot of jellies, and this happened to be the year. It was okay, though, because the boys were curious to learn about them and the blue crabs we saw. The cabin is close to many amazing landmarks and offers great hiking trails. If you are looking to relax or looking for an adventure, you can find both here. Oh, and the stargazing is phenomenal! We saw shooting stars every night we were there. This trip allowed us to not only have fun as a family, but to learn about so many aspects of nature! Brett provides everything you need and more. We will be back!!!
