I liked the surrounding areas were easy to walk to, ex. Art museum, river walk, farmers market and Saturday market. We also enjoyed the restaurant downstairs, it had a nice atmosphere and the pasta was amazing. I also loved the coffee shop which had everything you’d want in a local coffee shop and it was just an elevator ride away. Had their special of the day and it was lovely. Who doesn’t want a good cup of coffee first thing in the morning.

The Wait List : (
We arrived at check in time (4:00pm) and were told our room wasn’t ready. They put us on a wait list and told us we would get a text when it was ready. 2 hours later, still no text. Multiple grumpy people in the lobby waiting to get into their rooms. Finally after a wait of over 2 hours the man at the desk told us our room was ready. (Never received a text by the way). The next day, we went to grab a quick breakfast (we needed to be somewhere that morning and wanted to check out a bit early) When we came back to our room the door wouldn’t open. We found a kind employee who also tried with a master key. No luck. We were told the battery was probably dead on the door lock. We were asked to wait at our door for someone to show up. 10 minutes later (and feeling quite stressed for time) we got back in our room. So… the amount of time we spent just trying to get in a room on this trip was ridiculous. Sorry for the bad review… but it was a bad stay.

My experience at The Porter!
My first stay here was not horrible at all i really enjoyed the little store they have on the corner great for the mornings and so cute! The pool and hot tub were very refreshing and salt water is a nice touch less irritation on the skin 100% very nice pool room as well as the options for the steam room and sauna. The room was cozy and looked nice good hot shower a good flatscreen and AC which is most needed in portland! I wish the windows opened in the rooms though kinda felt a little closed in and could not get fresh air and would have been nice with no fan in the bathrooms! Bed was not the cushiest but did the job and no back pain so thats something best for back sleepers im a side sleeper not so great! But honestly with how nice the staff is the environment and options for drinks food and room service makes up for that easily! Parking is expensive for me but i just parked city central parking yeah 10 min walk but fraction of the price for two days in and I rode a Lime electric scooter back 3-4 mins super cheap and fun!! Overall not a bad place to stay at all i highly recommend it to anyone that wants a cozy safe area in portland!

Seemed very short staffed. Check in took so long there was a guy working by himself with lines all day. The gentleman working was excellent but very over worked. The staff in Xport lounge was absolutely the worst. Slow, made the wrong drink's and the female in the lounge was so rude to everyone that went to the bar in our group of 8. Beautiful hotel and lounge but they really need to work on more staff and better customer service.

Parking is $59 so there’s better parking options near the hotel. Valet people seems chill, receptionists was nice, maid, and other workers were cool. Gym is good to workout and pool was nice to experience. Always make sure to take advantage of their amenities if you will eat a lot here in Portland. Surrounding was decent and the park is like a 5 min walk, so it’s easy to reach. If you don’t wanna spend money on their breakfast, just google nearby breakfast restaurants. 10/10 experience
