The owners did masterful work restoring this home yet paid so much attention in providing up-to-date amenities that people have come to expect. Every convenience was thought of and there were wonderful treats and surprises at every turn. I particularly enjoyed their love of the Hudson River School and all of the lovely artwork represented from room to room. Local history is honored in the house and their knowledge of it is vast.
The inn is absolutely charming as are the innkeepers. We were made to feel very comfortable and the innkeepers made us feel at home. They took us on a tour of the inn and explained it’s history as well as history of the region. The furnishings and linens were beautiful and high quality. Our bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was very modern. Breakfast was delicious and locally sourced. We will be back!

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
We asked to have breakfast 15 minutes earlier just on our first day in order to arrive at our class in time. Boy! Did that press Mr. Cool’s buttons! This set a very uncomfortable, inhospitable tone for our stay. At one point he even made a derogative comment about us coming from Long Island. I would never return to this inn. Nor would I recommend it.
Local artwork in every room, access to almost the entire house, and amazing yard and garden to enjoy. Linda and Ken were wonderful hosts and the breakfasts were terrific. Visiting both was like being given a tour of the entire region.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Danskammer House. Our room was clean and comfortable, the house was beautiful and well-kept inside and out. The hosts were friendly and knowledgeable about the area, and the breakfast and tea were delicious. We would gladly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the Hudson River Valley.
Lovely couple friendly
Great explanation of home and area
Very comfortable place to stay and nice common area with tv, place to play games and gorgeous view of Hudson River hills
My sister and I loved the property and our hosts. The house was clean and we truly enjoyed sitting on the front porch later in the evening, just talking and taking advantage of the lovely surroundings. Would positively use this facility should we be in the area in the future.
This is our second time at this B&B and we enjoyed ourselves both times. The inn keeper's Linda and Ken are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast and afternoon snack were delicious!!
The innkeepers Ken and Linda have worked hard to make every element of their house comfortable, attractive, and evocative of the Hudson Valley's history. They take the same care to make their breakfasts memorably fine, and they themselves are pleasant and interesting folks to talk with. We enjoyed our visit.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our getaway at the Danskammer House. The inn is a peaceful retreat in an equally peaceful area of the Hudson River Valley. We hiked along local trails that offer river views, which was the perfect complement to our relaxing stay at the Inn. Linda and Ken are gracious hosts, including a serving delicious breakfast which we enjoyed in the garden. They also provided great recommendations! We had dinner in downtown Poughkeepsie at a French brasserie with fantastic food and atmosphere. The Inn is a gem, and we plan to return!
