Magnificent room with a view of the Old Town
Our room was like stepping back in time and the decor was charming and comfortable. The view stole the show as it was magical to be able to look at the Praha Castle from sunrise to late in the evening from the large windows. This is one of our best experiences in Europe.

Style and graciousness
I was utterly charmed by the Smetana Hotel in Prague. It is situated in the heart of the old city, by the river and in walking distance of beautiful places to see. The room was wonderfully spacious and comfortable, but most importantly - the staff were superb! I was so struck by their warmth, intelligence and the genuineness of their concern to help with the littlest thing I required - especially once we had translated 'safety pins' into Czech!

Nice Hotel close to Charles Bridge.
Great hotel. Very cooperative staff. Especially the front desk Mr. Daniel was an excellent person and of great help. Close to Charles bridge - walkable distance. Across the road a great panoramic view of the castle.

Riverside luxury
Excellent location on the fringe of the old city and right on the river. We could easily get to the major sites while being able to avoid the crowds and see less touristed but equally pretty districts. Staff was excellent. We paid a little extra for a river-view room and it was worth it. By US standards, real luxury at a moderate price.

Not up to American 5 star standards Furnishings sparse, bathrooms outdated, bathtubs difficult to get into as high sides. There was a leak on one of the walls of our bedroom. TV only English Channel did not work was told that this was a known issue but had not been fixed during our 5 night stay.

Nice stay close to Charles Bridge
A 4 night stay in Prague at the Smetana Hotel, which is an old historical building. Good location walking distance to all of the main sites. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are in good condition and in keeping with the theme of being in a historical building. Noise levels were high due to the number of bars in the area, it was lively at night outside of the hotel. Literally, next to several bars, which is odd for an old histrorical hotel. Continental breakfast was included, but the selection was very slim. Croissant, bread and jam with brewed coffee. Everything else would have been a charge. The hotel should widen the options on a continental breakfast. Finally, the main lobbly is under construction, and there is noise during the day. Overall, good stay. Can't beat the location, but be aware of noise levels.

Excellent location just 2 min from Charles Bridge. Spacious rooms. Very friendly staff. Only NEGATIVE is that Free Breakfast is a scam as they charge you for anything other than breads and black coffee

Superb hotel overlooking river near Charles Bridge
Easy efficient airport. Incredible city with cobbled streets, trams, and good and cheap public transport. So many wonderful buildings, and things to see, try to fit in an evening concert, there are several most nights, and they are really good. Take a tour of the Jewish Quarter, it is very moving, and cross the Charles Bridge at night (with everybody else!). Just a few steps away from the main tourist streets the beer halls do good food, great beer, and there are many other good small restaurants. A great city to simply wander around and look at the architecture, with friendly helpful people

Amazing hotel, extremely clean and hotel staff were very helpful. Room was equipped with everything, including a European convertor! Huge space for a euro hotel. Will definitely stay here again next time in Prague. Total class!

Great hotel near to Charles Bridge
Had a lovely and relaxing 5 night stay in this beautiful historic hotel. We stayed with in a river view suite and was not disappointed! It was like our own apartment with separate living room, bedroom and ensuite bathroom and an extra toilet in the hallway. There was a kitchenette cleverly hidden inside a cabinet. The view from the window was perfect and could see the bridge and Castle clearly. Staff were polite and courteous and our whole stay was pretty much very quiet. Apart from some refurbishment works later in the morning, but this didn't really bother us. Would recommend this hotel if you're after something abit special.

Great location, lovely room
We stayed at the Smetana over New Year and it was the perfect location for all the festivities, almost next to Charles Bridge. Staff were helpful in recommending restaurants, methods of transport and other activities in Prague. We stayed in a 2-bedroom suite on the top floor, which was very spacious with its own kitchen and had a great view of all the fireworks at midnight!

Fantastic Location
This hotel was on the river, with great views of the castle. Close walk to old town, convenient tram and bus stops nearby to go further afield. Staff was excellent and helpful, breakfast delicious (breads and drinks were included in our rate; we paid extra for a hot breakfast, which was tasty and reasonably priced). The room was fantastic, luxurious bathroom with L'Occitane amenities and large tub. Well stocked minibar, Nespresso, electric kettle, wine glasses and corkscrew for that extra touch. Comfortable bed, plenty of space for our stuff, great big windows. The courtyard looked like it would be a great place for a drink in warmer weather.
