Great location and wonderful house staff
This was an outstanding visit in such a beautiful location. We cannot praise the house staff more highly. The house was always spotless due to the diligence of the housekeepers. Robinson, the chef, took our complex list of dietary needs and created outstanding meals one after another--great Dominican meals, Caribbean lobsters, whole grilled fish, great salads, vegetables, and juices.In the interest of being helpful to future guests, here are some things to be aware of: hot water takes a while to reach the top floor--just turn it on and do something else for five minutes. The shower in the primary and 1st floor back room need replacement as the handheld devices don't function (the rainfall shower does). The first floor back room sink is clogged and quickly fills/drains slowly, which made it hard to wash a bathing suit. Do get the pool warmer, you'll have to push hard for it. We got it there by day 4 or 5. Make sure your communications and requests are simple and clear (and be patient as responses are not always quick), make sure you're set up on WhatsApp to communicate with the house manager/owners, and use Google Translate with the staff as needed. If I were the owners, I'd update the guest info book--lots of confusing/missing info (e.g., it mentions that it will include store info but doesn't). If you need a store, go to the eco center store, not the store at the Westin. Also, add 5 hooks to bathrooms for drying suits, etc.
