The hotel was okay and the hosts were very nice. They let us check in a couple hours early which was nice. The coffee definitely gets the job done and breakfast is decent enough. Can’t go wrong with waffles. I had a hard time giving more than three stars for a few reasons. First, we went to the hot tub and pool but both were cloudy and there was no chlorine smell, whatsoever. We both ended up having some cold symptoms, my wife was worse than mine as she actually ran a fever. The second problem was something that really creeped us out. We went to a pizza restaurant on our way to the hotel from the airport, and brought leftovers. We placed the leftovers in the refrigerator, went hiking for a bit at the park and by the time we came back, our pizza was no longer in the refrigerator. Was unfortunate because we were hungry after hiking, but it was also really strange. We even had the “do not disturb” sign on the outside of the door. Last thing that I didn’t care for, our second night there, we returned from Badlands NP at around 11pm and there was a guy who looked like he hadn’t slept in a month in the lobby, messing with the coffee pots, talking to us, talking to himself and moving around allot. The guy was very clearly on meth, which makes people very unpredictable. I didn’t appreciate having that around my wife, while at a place where we should feel safe. I literally wedged a chair under the bedroom door knob to ensure no one would come into our room at night.
